2 Tools and Supplies Required Drill 3 mm, 6 mm, 8.5 mm Drill bits Contact cleaner Scissors Torsion bar assembly tool (07AAF-SNAA100) File Touch-up paint Masking tape Heavy gloves Eye protection (face shield, safety goggles, etc.) Shop towel Center-punch Duct tape Utility knife Ruler Before You Begin Customer Information Be careful not to damage the body. Using cleaner, thoroughly clean the areas where the trunk spoiler will attach. To prevent spilling, use a shop towel to apply the cleaner and wipe up spilled cleaner at the once. Allow the cleaner to dry thoroughly before proceeding to the next step. The trunk spoiler should be installed only when the ambient air temperature in 15 C (60 F) or above. Heat the trunk spoiler and bonding surface with hair dryer set on LOW if the ambient temperature is below 15 C (60 F). After installing, hold the trunk spoiler firmly against the trunk lid with the palm of your hands. To allow the adhesive to cure, do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours. 3 Installation 1. Paint the trunk spoiler with paint and let it dry thoroughly. Paint AT 2. Using contact cleaner, clean the area where the double face tapes will be attached. 3. Attach the four double face tapes A and two double face tapes B to the trunk spoiler in the positions shown. DOUBLE FACE TAPE B DOUBLE FACE TAPE 2 DOUBLE FACE TAPES A BACKSIDE OF 2 DOUBLE FACE TAPES A ADHESIVE BACKINGS Remove. MARK Clean with contact cleaner. Align. DOUBLE FACE TAPE B AT 4. Using contact cleaner, clean the area where the rubbers will be attached. 5. Attach the two rubbers A, two rubbers B and the two rubbers C to the trunk spoiler in the positions shown. RUBBER B (80 mm, 3.1in.) BACKSIDE OF MARK Clean with contact cleaner. RUBBER C (85 mm, 3.3in.) 2 RUBBERS A RUBBER Align. ADHESIVE BACKINGS Remove. RUBBER B (80 mm, 3.1in.) RUBBER C (85 mm, 3.3in.) 4 6. Slide the four clips onto the trunk spoiler in the positions shown. BACKSIDE OF 4 PEDESTALS OF THE CLIP 4 CLIPS AT 7. Cut the template as shown. TEMPLATE B UTILITY KNIFE SCISSORS MARK AT 8. Attach the duct tape to the trunk lid. 9. Position the template A in the position shown. DUCT TAPE Align. TRUNK LID (LEFT SIDE) CT 4 / 8

5 10. Holding the template B as shown, secure the template A to the trunk lid using masking tape. MASKING TAPE Align the hole with the arrow. SLIT HOLE TEMPLATE B Set the template B on the slit. <Viewed from the top> CT 11. Mark the trunk lid as indicated on the template A using a center punch. 12. Remove the template A from the trunk lid. CENTER PUNCH 2 MARKS BT 5 / 8

6 13. Wear the eye protection and drill at the marked two points you made using 3 mm bit first, then with 6 mm bit. Finish drilling using 8.5 mm bit. Protect the trunk compartment with a cover not to allow the chips from falling in it during drilling the trunk lid. To prevent drilling through the trunk lid, wind the masking tape onto the drill bit at a 10 mm from the tip of the bit. After drilling, remove the chips thoroughly with care not to damage the vehicle body. 14. Remove the burrs from the edge of the holes you just made using a file. Apply touch-up paint to the filed parts and allow them to dry thoroughly. 15. Remove the duct tape. 16. Repeat step 8 through step 15 on the other side. DRILL (BIT: 3 mm 6 mm 8.5 mm) DUCT TAPE Remove. 2 MARKS 10 mm DRILL BIT MASKING TAPE BT 17. Turn back the six ends of the adhesive backings on the backside of the trunk spoiler and attach them to the surface side of the trunk spoiler using masking tape. 6 ENDS OF ADHESIVE BACKINGS Turn back the ends and temporarily attach them to the surface side. 7 18. Clean the surface where the trunk spoiler will be installed using contact cleaner. 19. Install the trunk spoiler as shown. 4 CLIPS TRUNK LID INSTALLATION POSITION Clean with contact cleaner BT 20. Remove the six adhesive backings and press the trunk spoiler firmly with the palms of your hands to adhere. 6 ADHESIVE BACKINGS Remove. Pull together. Pull together AT 21. Remove the clip fixing the torsion bars. CLIP (reuse) 2 TORSION BARS T 7 / 8

8 22. Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands, use the torsion bar assembly tool sold separately to remove the right standard torsion bar. (At this time, the torsion bar will come off when you pull the torsion bar assembly tool towards you while turning it.) Trunk lid may fall by its own weight when the torsion bar is removed, and can cause accident or injury. When installing and removing the torsion bar, have an assistant hold the trunk lid open or secure it in its applied position with a block etc. The removed torsion bar no longer will be required, but it should be kept as it will be used if the trunk spoiler is removed. LEFT SIDE TRUNK LID HINGE TORSION BAR ASSEMBLY TOOL RIGHT TORSION BAR AT 23. Install the new right torsion bar in the reverse order of removal: Be careful when installing the torsion bar as they repel with strong force and can cause injury. Wearing gloves, rotate the tool as you pull it toward you. Set the bar in the first notch (original position) of the hinge arms. 24. Set the clip again to the torsion bar in its original condition.
