3 Heat Recovery Systems Heat Recovery Systems Turbine and compression ignition engines waste enormous amounts of energy due to heat. This heat energy can be recovered by installing a heat recovery system. Heat recovery systems are designed to recapture heat waste given off by these engines, thus overall increasing the output efficiency of the system. Heat recovery systems can use either a steam or water system to recover lost energy due to heat.

4 Heat Recovery Systems Heat Recovery Silencers Cain Heat Recovery Silencer-Radial (HRS-R) systems are designed to take total exhaust flow, transferring the exhaust heat to the process fluid and minimizing the exhaust noise. 5 Heat Recovery Systems Exhaust Steam Generation Cain Exhaust Steam Generation (ESG-1) systems are designed to take the total exhaust flow, transferring exhaust heat to process steam and minimize exhaust noise. 6 Heat Recovery Systems Plate Heat Exchanger Mueller plate heat exchangers allow customers to isolate simple fluids, viscous solutions or particulates from non-process fluids. 12 Back Flow Valves Back Flow Valves The Champion back flow valve is ideal for preventing reverse exhaust flow to the turbine. This wafer check valve uses a special closing spring designed for the flow of Capstone turbine exhaust. Each valve is sized for the appropriate exhaust flow, temperature, flange size, and back pressure capability of the turbine system.
