3 Hydraulic System TX420 Gear Pump Loader Valve Auxiliary Valve Hydrostatic Pumps Wheel Motors Lift Cylinders Dump Cylinder A two-section tandem gear pump powers the loader and auxiliary hydraulic systems. Section 1 (Auxiliary): rpm (42.4 liter/min) Section 2 (Loader): rpm (20.8 liter/min) A two-spool monoblock valve controls loader functions via a single lever joystick. Main Relief Setting: 2400 psi (165.5 bar) Loader Spool: a 4-position spool with closed, raise, lower, and float positions controls loader functions. Tilt Spool: A 3-position spool with 3000 psi (206.8 bar) work port reliefs controls the dump/curl cylinder functions. A single spool valve controls the auxiliary flow to the Dingo TX attachments. The valve is actuated by single-step motion lever for forward and reverse-detent positions. Main Relief Setting: 3000 psi (206.8 bar) The traction circuit is powered by dual hydrostatic pumps in a closed loop system. The hydrostatic pumps are belt driven off of the auxiliary drive shaft on the front of the engine. The circuit charge pressure is supplied by a 5 psi (.34 bar) check valve in the loader pump return circuit. The pumps have service bypass valves for towing and have shock valves to limit circuit pressure spikes. The pumps are mechanically actuated by the Dingo TX traction control system. 4 Hydraulic System TX420 cont. Tank Filter The hydraulic tank is a fabricated weldment integrated into the main frame. The tank has a cleanout access, stainless screens at the fill and suction ports and a remote breather connected via hose. Capacity: 10.5 gallons (39.7 liters) Model serial # uses a nylon molded replaceable hydraulic tank. This tank does not have a drain. The oil needs to be drawn out using suction. The tank has stainless steel screens at the fill and suction ports and is vented through the cap. Capacity: 8 gallons (30.27 liters) In addition to the in-tank screens, the loader circuit passes through a 10 micron spin-on filter prior to returning to tank. Electrical System TX420 Battery Gauges Fuel Shut Off Ignition Fuses 12 volt, BCI group 55 battery with 585 CCA The control panel contains a combo hour meter/tachometer and a fuel gauge. Model serial # utilized an hour meter only. Carburetor solenoid The ignition switch is panel mounted with STOP-RUN-START positions. The machine has a fuse block with 4 separate fuses, 10, 15, 25 and 30 amp. Track System TX420 Track Drive Wheel Road Wheels The tracks are Kevlar reinforced, endless rubber rings with 28 internal drive lugs. The outer tread on the tracks is a turf-friendly S-shaped pattern with pitched crosscuts. Track Width: 5.88 (14.9cm) Track Pitch: 3.45 (8.8cm) The drive wheels are single-piece, austempered ductile iron, squirrel cage castings. The wheels are mounted directly onto the tapered shafts of the wheel motors. Wheel Diameter: (29.5cm) No. of Teeth:eter 11 Constant track ground pressure is maintained by 20 ductile iron road wheels. 7 Torque Torque s s Fastener Identification Recommended fastener torque values are listed in the following tables. For critical applications, as determined by Toro, either the recommended torque or a torque that is unique to the application is clearly identified and specified in the service manual. 2 These torque specifications for the installation and tightening of fasteners shall apply to all fasteners which do not have a specific requirement identified in the service manual. The following factors shall be considered when applying torque: cleanliness of the fastener, use of a thread sealant (Loctite), degree of lubrication on the fastener, presence of a prevailing torque feature, hardness of the surface underneath of the fastener s head, or similar condition which affects the installation. As noted in the following tables, torque values should be reduced by 25% for lubricated fasteners to achieve the similar stress as a dry fastener. Torque values may also have to be reduced when the fastener is threaded into aluminum or brass. The specific torque value should be determined based on the aluminum or brass material strength, fastener size, length of thread engagement, etc. (A) Grade 1 (B) Grade 5 Figure 1 Inch Series Bolts and Screws (C) Grade 8 The standard method of verifying torque shall be performed by marking a line on the fastener (head or nut) and mating part, then back off fastener 1/4 of a turn.
