3 The Baczus wheelchair is designed for transport of disabled children and teenagers (max weight: 35kg), suffering from cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular diseases. 1. 6 Frame Seat Canopy Head Support Front crotch stopper 4. ssembly 4.1 Unfolding 1 Release folding hook Hold on handle and pull up. Unfold wheelchair, locking the legs in the open. 6

7 4.2 ssembling - Reversible Seat B WRNING: Make sure that the seat is firmly fixed on a frame. 1- Push down latch (), 2- Lock the 2nd lock of seat 4.3 ssembling - Canopy B C Turn the stroller right side up. Hold the canopy with canopy clip () toward the front of wheelchair. Check the adjust line and insert canopy clip into the slot (B) in the handle tube snapped (C) on canopy 7

8 4.4 Folding of a stroller (with seat on the frame) B To fold the wheelchair, lock rear brakes and take out a child. Close canopy if it is on the stroller. Pull up the fold hook (), and push wheelchair backward until it locks in the folded position Lock the folding hook (B) 5. Functions 5.1 Handle djustment To adjust the handle up or down, push the adjustment button () on both handle hinges at the same time and adjust the handles. 8

9 5.2 Canopy Pull canopy rod () to unfold a canopy. Push canopy toward handle to close it. 5.3 Reversible Seat Locate the RED release latch () on both side and life and turn the seat 180. Fit the seat on right position. The seat is reversed. WRNING: Take out a child before turning the seat round. 5.4 Reclining Rotate the adjustment grip () to adjust the reclining level 9

10 WRNING: Please, always hold the back of the seat while adjusting the level of recline. 5.5 Regulation of backrest height D B C Detach pad () and loosen screw (B) to extend the backrest length. Loosen screws (C) to adjust the side steel panel (D) for comfortable position 5.6 Seat belts and front crotch stopper. B Place the baby in the seat and bring the crotch panel up between child s legs, Fasten each buckle () and pull the straps to tighten the waist restraint for a snug fit. Insert the front crotch stopper (B) on seat and turn 90 to lock it. WRNING: To avoid serious injury resulting from to falling or sliping out, always use the seat belt. 10

11 5.7 Seat width and length adjustment The seat width can be adjusted - loosen the screws () at both sides and expand the seat width. The seat length can be adjusted - loosen screw () and slide the seat. WRNING: Take out a child before adjusting the seat. 5.8 Headrest cushion With the use of elastic strap (), attach the headrest to the backrest, at the level of a head. 11

12 5.9 Footrest ngle and Length djustment B Take out a clip () at the both sides and adjust the height. Hold on the adjustment rod (B) to adjust the angle. WRNING: Do not use the footrest as a treadle Brakes Push both rear brakes () to lock the wheelchair. 12

13 6. Proper use of a wheelchair. Following the below mentioned rules allows long-term and safe use of a wheelchair. 1. Baczus pplause wheelchair should be used according to its purpose. 2. Reclining of a wheelchair should be performed following the instructions of this manual. 3. Footrest angle should be adjusted according to indications included in the manual. 4. While putting a child into the wheelchair, the brakes should be locked. 5. When the wheelchair is used by patients who had problems with uncontrolled passing water, an additional protection should be applied on the seat. 6. Do not use the wheels brakes while driving on a flat terrain. 7. lways hold the wheelchair s handle while driving. 8. While driving on the steep, downward slope, use the wheels brakes. Too fast driver can result in wheelchair s falling. 9. While driving on non-hardened surface, the wheelchair should be pulled. 10. While driving through the high obstacles or kerbs, the front wheels should be lifted and the wheelchair leaned back. Then, lift the rear wheels and push the stroller forward. 11. When the wheelchair is lifted up by two persons, one person should hold the handle and front wheels support, the second one wheelchair s frame. 12. Every month check the technical state of the stroller the mechanisms which block the seat, backrest, brakes etc. 13. Wheelchair s upholstery is not fireproof and it should not be in contact with source of fire. 14. Max pressure in the wheels should not exceed 2,1 bar. 7. Maintenance Use a brush or sponge with delicate detergent to clean the upholstery. Polyurethane foam which foliates upholstery does not change its characteristics under the influence of humidity and other weather conditions. Please, do not use the following cleaners to clean the upholstery - dissolvents, - petrol, - paraffin, -turpentine, - acetone, - toluene, - etc. Use of the above-mentioned cleaners can result in damaging the upholstery which cannot be the purpose of the reclamation. 13

14 The frame of a stroller should be cleaned with cloth and delicate cleaner. Using sharp tools and scrubing cleaners (powder, polish ) can result in damaging the frame. 8. Warranty Basic obligations of a manufacturer are described in the Warranty added to the stroller. In case of damage, it should be immediately fixe or replaced by a new part. The basic requisite of well-functioning stroller is its maintenance and use of non-damaged model. If a damaged stroller is still being used, manufacturer does not bear responsibility for any harm and damages resulted from this situation. Only the following damages can be fixed by the wheelchair s user: - small damages of upholstery; - replacing the protective plugs; - replacing the handle s cover; If the following elements are damaged, the repair should be realized by the service points: - wheelchair s axle, - mechanizm regulating the backrest, - mechanism regulating the footrest, - broken or twisted elements of frame and seat, - safety belt, - wheel hub, bearings, - brake system If the following elements are damaged, it is possible to disassembly them and send to the service point: - upholstery, - additonal equipment (headrest, canopy) - basket, - seat, - rack, -footrest support, Mdh company possesses all the parts necessary to rep air the Baczus pplause wheelchair. When it is necessary to send the wheelchair to the service, it should be folded, packed with folic bag with additional protection of catroon with self-adhesive band.
