3 PLA/PLAS Pneumatic Actuator Double Acting and Single Acting Pneumatic Linear Actuators for On-Off and regulating service!" $ flow control Features Electroless nickel plated and polished cylinder for corrosion resistance and minimum friction. Hard chromium plated and polished piston rod in stainless steel for corrosion resistance and minimum friction. Floating type piston rod seals and piston seals for low hysteresis and high sensitivity preventing sticking problems. Piston rod supported by bushing made of bronze with sintered TEFLON to provide minimal friction and extended service life Stroke adjustment with mechanical travel stop in one direction. The stroke adjustment for the opposite direction is made with the stem joint Factory totally enclosed spring cartridge, for single acting version, to prevent any damage to personnel during assembling or disassembling. Modular design which allows to transform the linear actuator, also in field, from spring to close action to spring to open action or viceversa, using the same pieces. Adapter spool in fabricated carbon steel, specifically designed for adaptation to any type of valve with provision for local indicator, limit switches and other accessories. Extensive range of accessories: - Jackscrew and hydraulic manual override - limit switches boxes, explosion proof, intrinsically - safe and/or water proof, in different types according to Customer requirements - Position transmitter, explosionproof, intrinsically safe and/or water proof - air filter and lubricator - air storage tanks available in accordance with different - Codes: ASME viii, div 1, EN, BS, TÜV,.. - Actuators for destinations within the European Community available with PED execution - Solenoid valves, explosionproof, intrinsically safe and/or waterproof. - Base actuators muscle will be marked ATEX CE as standard for destinations within the European Community - Quick exhaust valves - Pneumatic or electropneumatic positioner - Pneumatic or electropneumatic pressure switch. 5 PLA/PLAS Pneumatic Actuator Biffi can provide a complete range of double acting and spring-return pneumatic linear actuators PLA and "PLAS". These actuators can use the same cylinders. The spring module can be mounted direct for "spring rto close" action or reversed for "spring to open" action. Due to the large range of combinations "thrust-stroke" required for the various applications (i.e. gate valve low pressure / high pressure, globe valve low pressure / high pressure, spring action), please contact the Factory in order to obtain the right actuator design for your application. Jackscrew manual override for spring return function MHW Derived from "MHW" used on "ALGAS" actuators. For larges units an additional gear is also provided. 6
