2 c) An electronic factory in Kuching uses 1000 units of electricity for the month of January. The tariff scale is fixed as follow: i. 1 st 300 units at 35 cents per unit. 2 nd 200 units at 30 cents per unit. i The remaining units at 25 cents per unit. C1 c) Name THREE (3) types of cooling methods used for cooling transformer. Nyatakan TIGA (3) kaedah penyejukan yang digunakan untuk menyejukkan pengubah. 4 SULIT

4 d) A transformer with a secondary voltage of 120V, secondary resistant of 50 ohm, and secondary winding of 60 turns. On the primary side, it has primary windings of 20 turns. Calculate: i. The primary voltage The secondary current i The primary current Sebuah pengubah dengan voltan sekunder 120V, rintangan sekunder 50 ohm, dan belitan sekunder sebanyak 60 pusingan. 5 QUESTION 3 SOALAN 3 a) A 150kW, 250V shunt generator has shunt field resistance and armature resistance 180Ω and 0.05Ω respectively. Calculate: Sebuah penjana pirau 150kW, 250V mempunyai rintangan medan pirau dan rintangan angker 180Ω dan 0.05Ω masing masing. Kirakan: i. Shunt field current Arus medan pirau Armature current Arus Angker [2 marks] [2 markah] [2 marks] [2 markah] i Generated e.m.f D.g.e terjana [2 marks] [2 markah] b) A 12-pole DC generator has a simplex wave wound armature containing of 2880 conductors. Its flux per pole is 0.05Wb. The armature is turning at the speed of 200 rpm. Determine: Sebuah penjana AT 12-kutub mempunyai belitan gelombang mengandungi 2880 pengalir. Fluks perkutub ialah 0.05Wb. Angker berputar pada halaju 200 psm. Tentukan: i. The generated armature voltage of this machine Voltan angker yang dijanakan mesin ini The generated armature voltage if the machine now has a lap wound. Voltan angker yang dijanakan sekiranya mesin kini mempunyai sambungan tindih 6 SULIT

6 c) A 172kW, 430V, 800 rpm shunt generator has the value of armature resistance and field resistance 0.05Ω and 20Ω respectively. If a rotational loss of this machine is 6238 W, calculate: Sebuah penjana pirau 172kW, 430V, 800 psm mempunyai nilai rintangan angker dan rintangan medan masing masing ialah 0.05Ω dan 20Ω. Jika kehilangan putaran mesin ini ialah 6238W, kirakan: i. 7 QUESTION 4 SOALAN 4 a) Figure 1 shows a circuit diagram of a DC motor. Based on information given calculate the back emf of this motor. Rajah 1 menunjukkan gambarajah litar bagi sebuah motor AT. Berdasarkan maklumat yang diberi kirakan dge balikan motor ini. [5 marks] [5 markah] Ish IL = A Ra = 0.8Ω Ia Rsh = 200 Ω 440 V Figure 1/ Rajah 1 b) A 4-pole, 250V DC series motor has 782 conductors at armature. The value of resistance at armature and series winding are 0.05Ω and 0.7Ω respectively. The value of flux per pole is 25mWb. If the motor is taking 40A current calculate: (Assume the motor has wave winding) Sebuah motor AT siri 250V, 4 kutub mempunyai 782 pengalir pada angker. Nilai rintangan armature dan rintangan siri masing-masing ialah 0.05Ω dan 0.7Ω. Nilai fluks perkutub ialah 25mWb. Jika motor mengambil arus sebanyak 40A kirakan: (Andaikan motor mempunyai sambungan gelombang) i. 8 c) A 480V, 20kW shunt DC motor has an armature resistance of 0.6Ω. If the value of field resistance is 800Ω, calculate the efficiency of this motor at full load condition.
