1 SWIRMAX VFM4070C Vortex Flowmeter OUTINE SWIRMAX is 2-wire, all-in-one type vortex flowmeter with both temperature and pressure sensors integrally mounted into the housing. It allows temperature and pressure compensation of steam and gas flow measurement without additional sensors. It is best suited for energy management of steam and gas flow. FEATURES Wide variety of fluids can be measured: steam, gases, and liquids services. Temperature compensation of saturated steam included as standard The flowmeter has a temperature sensor and amplifier where density table of saturated steam is memorized. It outputs the flow rate of saturated steam compensated by actual temperature. Thus, it gives mass flow rate as standard. Pressure sensor provided as an option A pressure sensor can be installed as an option. The flowmeter could compensate pressure and temperature changes of steam and gas without providing extra sensors and compensation unit. Corrosion resistant all stainless steel construction All wet parts made of welded stainless steel construction is robust and corrosion/heat resistant. Diameter reduced version now available for Flange version Constricted meter size of measuring part is available to make measurement of low flow rate possible. Thereby diameter reduction up to two sizes is possible. Stable reading by Intelligent Signal Processing (ISP) The unique ISP gives stable and reliable readings by compensating external disturbances. Reliable construction Reliable and maintenance free flowmeter with no moving parts. ATEX and TIIS explosionproof versions are available. OPERATING PRINCIPE An object in the flowing fluid generates Karman vortexes in regular cycle, alternatively at each side of the object downstream. The generated vortex frequency is proportional to the flow velocity. The frequency of Karman vortex, detected by a piezoelectric element in flow sensing unit of VFM4070C, is converted to the flow rate for output signal. The flow sensing unit, having a Pt1000Ω temperature sensor and saturated steam table, gives automatic temperature compensation of steam flow rate by sensing the fluid temperature. Furthermore, it provides automatic temperature and pressure compensation of gases and superheated steam by equipping with a pressure sensor as an option.
