AFPQ closes on rising differential pressure or when set max. flow is exceeded. Main data: - DN PN 16, 25, 40 - Max. temperature 200 o C - Flow and return mounting The controller has a control valve (flange connection) with adjustable throttle for flow setting, an actuator with two diaphragms and a spring for differential pressure setting. Bellow VFQ 2 DN VFQ 2 DN with body extension up to 200 o C 9 Flow volume causes the pressure difference on the flow rescrictor throttle. Pressure difference acts through the impulse tubes on the control diaphragm. Differential pressure (effective pressure) and flow are limited by the means of the built-in control spring. Pressure arising from the flow and return line are being transferred through the impulse tubes on the control diaphragm. Control valve closes on rising differential pressure and opens when differential pressure is reduced to maintain constant differential pressure. AFPQ controls are fitted with pressure limiting valve, which protects actuator from too high differential pressure. 4 VD.CA.A1.02 Danfoss 06/01 SIBC

5 Application principles - Flow mounting (AFPQ 4) Direct-connected heating system Indirectly connected heating system - Return mounting (AFPQ) Direct-connected heating system Indirectly connected heating system Installation position Controls DN with flow medium temperature up to 120 o C can be installed in any position. In case of controls DN and if temperature exceeds 120 o C (all nominal diameter), they have to be installed in horizontal pipes only, with a pressure actuator oriented downwards. The external impulse tube must be fitted between the flow- or return line and control actuator. AF impulse tubes listed under Accessories can be used. Setting Flow limiter is set by the adjustment of the of the flow rescrictor throttle. The adjustment can be performed on the basis of sizing diagram (see the AFPQ mounting instruction) or by the means of flow indicator. Controls DN are to be set by the flow indicator only.
