The differential between the two contact of the SPDT witch i eaily adjuted by mean of the differential adjutment crew on the thermotat arm (ee ut 2 in Figure-9). Thi adjutment crew regulate the ditance that the thermotat arm i required to move to trip from one contact to the other. Adjutable from 1 to 15. Factory et at 2. After differential adjutment in the field, the calibration crew (ee ut 3 in Figure-9) may be ued to re-calibrate the control a follow: 1. Immere the ening bulb for about 10 minute in a medium of known temperature. 2. Turn dial to etting correponding to bulb temperature. 3. Turning calibrating crew to the right (W) lower control point temperature, and turning to the left (W) raie control point temperature. Turn the calibrating crew W or W a required until the witch click. 4. otate the calibrating crew in the oppoite direction until witch click again. 5. It may be locked in place by tightening the receed Allen et crew in the top of the dial haft (ee Figure-9). The differential between the and contact of the SPDT witche i eaily adjuted by moving the contact pring on the thermotat arm (ee Figure-15). The differential may be varied by looening the clamp nut and liding the contact pring to the left to increae the differential of all three witche (or to the right to decreae the differential). Thi varie the tenion brought to bear on the witch trip pin and adjut the differential between 2 F and 7 F (±0.5 F). Factory et at minimum. Each diviion repreent approximately 1 F. Thi adjutment may have ome effect on the differential between tage and therefore hould be the firt adjutment made in reetting the differential of the control. between Stage The differential between the low tage and middle tage i eaily adjuted by turning the middle tage adjutment crew (ee Figure-15) W to decreae differential and W to increae differential. Factory et at 3 F. The differential between high and middle tage i eaily adjuted by looening the lock crew and rotating the eccentric tud (ee Figure-15), phyically changing the ditance between the trip pin of the high and middle tage witche. Turning thi eccentric tud W decreae differential and turning W increae differential. The total differential available between the low and high tage i adjutable between 0 F and 20 F. The differential between the low, middle, and high tage can be varied but the total may never exceed 20 F. For example, if the differential between the low and middle tage i et at 12, then 8 F i the maximum differential that can be obtained between the middle and high tage. After differential adjutment have been made, the unit hould be calibrated a follow: 1. Immere the ening bulb for about 10 minute in any medium of known temperature. 2. Turn dial to etting correponding to bulb temperature. 3. Turn calibration crew (ee Figure-15) until the low tage witch actuating point (indicated by the dial) traddle the bulb temperature. For example, if bulb temperature i 70 F, turn calibrating crew until low tage witch actuating point (click) are an equal number of degree from 70 F, namely 68 F and 72 F. If dial etting i higher than actual bulb temperature, turn calibrating crew lightly in a W direction. If dial etting i lower than bulb temperature, turn crew in a W direction. 4. To check differential between tage: a. Turn dial well above calibration point. b. Start turning dial lowly toward calibration point until the low tage witch jut click (make to ) and note dial reading at thi point. c. ontinue turning dial in the ame direction until middle tage witch click (make to ) and note dial reading at thi point. 8 opyright 2009 Schneider Electric All ight eerved. Thi adjutment may have ome effect on the differential between tage and therefore hould be the firt adjutment made in reetting the differential of the control. between Stage The differential between the firt and econd tage witche i eaily adjuted by turning the econd tage adjutment crew (AA) (ee Figure-17). Ue a 3/16" open-end wrench, turning to the left to decreae the differential and to the right to increae the differential. ( i factory et at 3 minimum.) The differential between the econd and third tage witche i adjuted by turning the third tage differential adjutment crew () to the right to decreae the differential and to the left to increae the differential. ( i factory et at 3 minimum.) The differential adjutment between the third and fourth (or high) tage witche i accomplihed by looening the lock crew () and rotating the eccentric tud, which i jut to the left of the lock crew, thereby phyically changing the ditance between the trip pin of the firt and fourth tage witche. Turning thi eccentric tud W decreae the differential and turning it W increae the differential. The total differential between the firt and fourth tage i adjutable between 0 and 20. The differential between the firt, econd, third, and fourth tage may be varied but the total may never exceed 20. For example, if the differential between the firt and econd tage i et at 4 and the differential between the econd and third tage i et at 6, then 10 i the maximum differential that can be obtained between the third and fourth tage. The ue of tet light i trongly uggeted. However, a they may not alway be available, the control hould be calibrated a follow: 1. Immere the ening bulb for about 10 minute in any medium of known temperature before proceeding. (A pail of water may be ued and temperature determined with an accurate thermometer). 2. Turn regulating knob to etting correponding to bulb temperature. 3. Turn calibrating crew (DD) (ee Figure-17), uing a 3/16" open-end wrench, either to the right or to the left, until the firt tage witch actuating point traddle the bulb temperature (indicated by the dial). For example, if the bulb temperature i 70, turn the calibrating crew until the firt tage witch actuating point (click) are an equal number of degree from 70, namely 68 and opyright 2009 Schneider Electric All ight eerved. Again, turn knob in the ame direction until the fourth tage witch jut click (make to ) and note dial reading at thi lat point. f. The difference in dial reading, a noted, indicate the differential between tage. For example, if the fourth, third, econd, and firt tage click (make to ) at 84, 80, 77, and 71, repectively, then the differential between the fourth and third tage i 4 (84 80), between the third and econd tage i 3 (80 77), and between the econd and firt tage i 6 (77 71). Total differential between the firt, or low, tage and the fourth, or high, tage i then 13 (84 71). 5. If it i deired to raie or lower all four witch action, and the differential between all tage i atifactory, turn the calibrating crew to the left to raie the etpoint and to the right to lower the etpoint. All four witche will retain their differential and will remain in equence.
