Important Safety Precautions This section and the rest of the manual contains many recommendations on security. The following are the most important recommendations. Always fasten the seat belt as it is the best protection in all types of accident. Airbags (on some models) are an aid to safety belts, but are designed to inflate only in cases of violent frontal impact. Thus, even with air bags, make sure to always fasten your seat belts properly. (See page 14) Properly restrain all children Children are more safe when properly restrained in the back seat, not on the front. A child too small for seat belts must be properly restrained in a seat. (See page 20) Be aware of risk from airbag Airbags save lives but can also cause serious injury or death to those who are sitting too close to them or is not properly restrained. Infants, young children and adults of small stature are at increased risk. Be sure to follow all instructions and warnings contained in this manual. (See page 8) Do not drive after drinking alcohol. Even one glass of alcohol can reduce the ability to react. Reaction times are getting longer with every cup. So avoid driving after drinking, and advise friends to do likewise. Control speed Speeding is the major cause of car accidents and consequent mortality. In general, the higher the speed, the higher the risk, but serious accidents can occur even at low speeds. Always keep a safe speed appropriate to road conditions, regardless of the speed limits. Treating the safety of car The explosion of a tire or mechanical failure can be extremely dangerous. To reduce this risk, frequently check the pressure and condition of tires, and follow the road maintenance program. (See page 154) ~ 4 ~

Important Safety Precautions This car has a lot of equipment that together contribute to the protection of occupants in the event of an accident. Some components of safety equipment do not require any maintenance. These include the sturdy steel frame that forms a shell of security around the cabin, front and rear areas of progressive deformation whose function is to absorb the energy that develops during the impact, and the steering column to progressive failure. The safety equipment has the function of reducing the severity of injury in an accident. However, to exploit fully the protection offered by these components, the driver and occupants must sit in the correct position and also correctly fasten their seat belts. In fact, some safety components can cause injury if not used correctly. 6 Important Safety Precautions Seatbelts For the protection of travelers, the car is equipped with seat belts for the driver and all passengers. In some models, the system includes a seat belt light in the instrument that reminds the driver and passengers to fasten their seatbelts. Why use safety belts Seat belts are the single most effective security system for adults and older children. (Babies and young children must be properly restrained by a child seat.) Not using the seat belt correctly increases the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, even if the car is equipped with air bags. In most European countries there are laws governing the use of seat belts. Be sure to inquire about the laws in force in countries that you will drive the car. WARNING If you are not properly buckled by the seat belts increases the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, even with air bags. ~ 6 ~

Important Safety Precautions If used correctly, safety belts: Keep the occupant anchored to the car so you can take advantage of safety equipment the car itself. They help protect the occupant in almost all types of accidents, including side impact, rear-end collisions and rollovers. (In cars with SRS airbags are only in the event of severe frontal impact.) Prevents occupants to be thrown against the car and the various parties against one another. Prevents occupants to be thrown out of the car. Retain the occupants in the correct position when inflating airbags. Correct position reduces the risk of injuries caused by airbags, and lets you take full advantage of the protection they offer. Of course, seat belts can not guarantee total protection in any crash. But in most cases, they may reduce the risk of serious injury. What should I do: Always use the safety belt correctly. CAUTION: Seat belts are designed to support the bone structure of the body, and must be worn so that embrace the pelvis, or chest and shoulders so that the horizontal part of the belt attraversila abdominal area. Seat belts must be adjusted so that they are close to the body, within the limits of comfort, to enable the protection pearl which were studied. A loose belt reduces substantially the protection of the occupant. Belts must not be fastened with twisted straps. Each safety belt must be used by a single occupant, it is dangerous to fasten a belt around a child seated in the lap of a passenger. ~ 7 ~

Important Safety Precautions Airbag (In some models) This car is equipped with additional safety system (SRS) with front airbags to protect the driver and front passenger. The following are the most important information you need to know about airbags. Airbags do not replace seatbelts. They are an aid to safety belts, offering additional protection for the head and chest of those who travel in the front seats. Airbags offer no protection in case of side impact, rear impact, rollover or impact of mild or moderate. The airbags are designed to inflate only in cases of violent frontal impact (impact at 40 km / h against a car parked in size and weight similar). The airbags can pose a serious danger. To fulfill their function, the airbags must inflate with great violence and speed. Thus, while saving his life, airbags can cause serious injuries to adults and older children who have not fastened the seat belt, they buckled incorrectly, or not sit too close to air bags are sitting in the correct position. Babies and young children are at greater risk of injury or death. What should I do: Always fasten your seat belt correctly and sit up straight backward, move the seat as far as possible from the steering wheel or dashboard. This system also includes a lamp in the instrument panel that informs the driver of the presence of any system problems. ~ 8 ~

Important Safety Precautions Seats & backs The seats of this car are designed to keep the occupant in a comfortable position and erect, so you can take full advantage of the protection offered by seat belts and the structural characteristics of the seats themselves. Even adjusting the seats and backrests can affect safety. For example, if you sit too close to the steering wheel or dashboard, increases the risk of injury as a result of collisions with the inside of the car or against the air bag during inflation. Leaning over the back, you reduce the protection offered by seat belts and increases the risk of slipping under the belt in the event of an accident resulting in serious injury. What do the front seats back as far as possible, and keep the adjustable seat backs in an upright position whenever the vehicle is in motion. Headrest Head restraints help protect against whiplash and other injuries. For maximum protection, the back of the head is resting on the center of the headrest. ~ 9 ~

Important Safety Precautions To ensure that all occupants receive the maximum protection from the envelope of safety of the car, always make the following checks before starting this guide: All adults and children too big for the seat must fasten your seat belt correctly (see p. 14).. All infants or small children must be properly restrained in a seat in the back seat (see p. 20).. The front seat occupants should sit as far away as possible from the steering wheel and the dashboard (see p. 11).. Head restraints must be properly adjusted (see p. 13).. All doors must be closed (see p. 11).. All baggage must be properly stored or secured (see p. 125).. The remainder of this section provides more detailed information on how to maximize security. It should be mentioned, however, no security system can prevent all injuries or deaths that may occur in severe accidents, even if they are fastened their seat belts and air bags are inflated (on some models). ~ 10 ~

Adult protection Introduction These pages provide instructions on the proper protection of the driver and other occupants adults. These instructions also apply to children too big for the seat and old enough to use the basin belts / shoulder. (See p.. 42 for additional important information on the proper protection of older children.) 1. Close doors After all the occupants have entered the car, make sure the doors are closed. In the instrument panel --- there is a light that indicates if a door is not completely closed. 2. Adjust the front seats A driver sitting too close to the steering wheel is in danger of serious injury or death if it hits the steering wheel or is hit during inflation in an accident. To reduce the risk of injury, properly buckle your belt, sit upright being well supported against the backrest and the seat back as far as possible from the steering wheel is compatible with the controls. Make sure that the front passenger seat, his shrink as much as possible. Adult protection ~ 11 ~

CAUTION Sitting too close to the airbag can cause serious injury or death in case of inflating airbag. Always sit as far away as possible from the airbag. Most of the drivers of short stature may also be able to leave the steering wheel enough to reach the pedals. However, if you think you sit too close to the wheel, you should inquire whether you can use special adapters. Once properly adjusted the seat, try moving back and forward to make sure it is locked into place. See page 86 for adjusting the front seats. 3. Adjust the backs Adjust the backrest of the driver's seat upright and comfortable, leaving ample space between the chest and the airbag (on some models) at the center of the wheel. If you sit too close to the steering wheel can be injured in case of inflating airbag. Even the front passenger has to adjust the seat back upright, but not too near wing bridge. If the passenger is seated too close to the dashboard, is likely to injure themselves when inflating airbag. WARNING Backrest too reclined can result in serious injury or death in an accident. Adjust the backrest upright and sit by becoming leaning against it. ~ 12 ~

Adult protection Reclining the backrest so that the diagonal belt is not resting against your chest as you reduce the protection afforded by the belt. It also increases the risk of slipping under the belt resulting in serious injuries in an accident. The greater the inclination of the backrest, the greater the risk of injury. See page. 86 for the adjustment of the seat backs. 4. Adjust headrest Before you start driving, make sure that all occupants with adjustable headrests have correctly adjusted the headrest. This should be positioned so that the rear head rests against the center of the head restraint itself. People of high stature must raise the head restraint as possible. CAUTION Incorrect adjustment of head restraints reduces its effectiveness and the risk of serious injury in an accident. Make sure the head restraints are fitted and adjusted properly before you start driving. The properly adjusted head restraints help protect against whiplash and other injuries. See page. 88 for the adjustment of head restraints. ~ 13 ~

Adult protection 5. Fasten seat belts and place Using the basin belt / shoulder insert the tab into the buckle, then pull the belt to make sure it is securely locked. Also check that the belt is not twisted, because in that case you risk serious injury in an accident. Place the horizontal part of the belt on the pelvis, then pull the diagonal part of the belt so that the horizontal part is very tense. In doing so, the violence of the impact will be absorbed by the strong pelvic bones reducing the risk of internal injuries. If necessary, pull back the belt to stretch well the part diagonal, then check that the belt passes over the center of the chest and shoulder. In this way, the violence of the impact will be distributed on the bones stronger trunk. CAUTION Safety belts positioned incorrectly can cause serious injury or death in an accident. Make sure all belts are properly positioned before you start driving. ~ 14 ~

Adult protection If the belt touches or rests on the neck, or through the arm instead of the shoulder, you need to adjust the height of the anchor. A badly adjusted belt can cause serious neck injuries if positioned too high, or severe chest and internal injuries if positioned too low. To adjust the height of the anchor belt front, press the two release button and raise or lower the anchor as necessary (with four digits). Do not ever pass the diagonal part of a pelvis belt / shoulder under the shoulder or behind his back. This can cause very serious injuries in an accident. Using the Belt basin Insert the tab into the buckle marked CENTER. If the belt is too short, slide the ribbon belt to the top of the regulator to form a ring, then hold the regulator at a right angle and pull the tab to stretch the belt. Insert the tab into the buckle and try to pull the belt to make sure it is securely locked. ~ 15 ~

Adult protection Position the belt as low as possible on the hips. Thus the impact energy is absorbed by the strong pelvic bones reducing the risk of internal injuries. Pull the free end of the belt so tightly that it is compatible with comfort. If a seatbelt is not working properly If the belt is not working properly, it can not protect the occupant in the event of an accident. Anyone using a belt not running the risk of serious injury or death. No one should sit on a seat belt which does not work. To check the belt from the Honda dealer as soon as possible. See page. 46 for more information on safety belts and their maintenance. 6. Adjust the steering wheel Adjust the steering wheel, if necessary, so that the wheel is pointing towards the chest, not toward your face. If the wheel is turned toward the face, it reduces the protection offered by the airbag to the driver. See page. 76 for adjusting the steering wheel. ~ 16 ~

Adult protection 7. Maintain a correct sitting position After that all occupants have adjusted the seat and fastened his seat belt, it is very important that they continue to sit upright with your back well supported against the backrest and both feet on the floor until the car is not parked and switched off the engine. An incorrect sitting position increases the risk of injury in an accident. For example, if the passenger lies down, turns sideways, leans forward and raises one or both feet, the risk of injury in an accident increases dramatically. Addition, an occupant seated in the front seat incorrectly is likely to report serious or fatal injury if it strikes against the inside of the car or is struck by the airbag during inflation. WARNING Sitting incorrectly can cause serious injury or death in an accident. Sit straight, being well supported against the backrest and the feet on the floor. For maximum protection from airbags (In some models) and other safety equipment properly and sit properly buckled his belt. ~ 17 ~

Adult protection Tips for pregnant women Since the protection of the mother is the best way to protect the lives of unborn children, pregnant women should always fasten your seat belt every time they travel by car. It is recommended for pregnant women to fasten the belt basin / shoulder whenever possible. Remember to place the horizontal part of the belt as low as possible on the dock. Pregnant women should also sit as far away as possible from the steering wheel or dashboard. This will reduce the risk of injury to both the mother and the unborn child resulting from the accident or inflating airbag. Each time you submit to a check-up, ask your doctor if there are contraindications to driving. ~ 18 ~

Adult protection Other safety precautions Two people should never use the same belt. In this case, there is a risk of serious injury in an accident. Do not attach accessories to seat belts. The devices in improved occupant comfort or reposition the diagonal part of the belt can seriously undermine the protection offered by seat belts, increasing the risk of serious injury in an accident. Only cars with SRS No sharp or hard objects interpose between themselves and the airbag. The transport of hard or sharp objects in her lap, or the guide pipe with AMI or other sharp objects in the mouth may cause injuries in case of inflating airbag. Keep hands and arms away from the airbag cover. If you hold hands or arms too close to the airbag cover in the center of the steering wheel or dashboard, you risk injury in the event of airbag inflation. ~ 19 ~

Protecting children Children depend on adults for their safety. However, despite the best intentions, many parents and other adults do not know the way properly protect young passengers. So if you have kids or you must still drive with children on board, make sure to read this section. WARNING Children are not withheld or withheld improperly risk serious injury or death in an accident. Children too small for seat belts must be properly restrained with a child seat approved. Older children should be properly restrained with seat belts. Children depend on adults for their safety. However, despite the best intentions, many parents and other adults do not know the way properly protect young passengers. So if you have kids or you must still drive with children on board, make sure to read this section. In most countries, the seats must meet the ECE regulation 44. In many countries the law requires that children under the age of 12 years and under 150 cm in height make use of car seats regularly approved. In these countries, wherever they are sitting the children have to use approved car seats regularly. Check the current regulations of the country. ~ 20 ~

Protecting children All children must be held each year, many children are injured or killed in automobile accidents because they are detained or are incorrectly. In fact, car accidents are the leading cause of death of children under the age of 12 years. To reduce the number of injuries and deaths of children, they must always be properly restrained every time they travel by car. Children too small for the belt must be properly restrained in a bike seat. (See p.. 25.) Children must sit in the back According to accident statistics, children of all ages and sizes are safer when properly restrained in the back seat, not on the front. The back seat, children are better protected from impact against the inside of the car in case of accident or sudden braking. Also, do not risk being injured by an airbag during inflation if they travel the back seat. The passenger airbag is a serious risk to children The airbags are designed to protect adults in cases of violent frontal impact. To this end, the passenger airbag is of considerable size, and swells very quickly. Infants Never place a child seat facing backwards on the front seat of a car equipped with airbags for the passenger. If the airbag inflates, it can hit the back seat with enough force to kill or injure a baby very badly. Older children should be restrained by a seat belt. (See p.. 42.) ~ 21 ~

Protecting children As required by Regulation E.C.E. 94 WARNING, DANGER! Never install a rearward-facing infant seat on the right front seat if the car is equipped with an airbag on the passenger side. The airbag, inflatable, violence can strike at the seat. The seat could be moved from his position or hit with sufficient force to cause serious injury to the baby. Children Place a child seat facing forward in the front seat of a car equipped with airbags for the passenger may be dangerous. If the seat is too far forward, or if the baby's head is thrown forward in an accident, the airbag, inflatable, can strike the child with enough force to kill or seriously wound him. Even older children, children too big for the seat can be injured or killed by the inflating airbag for the passenger. When possible, the older children to sit in the back seat, properly restrained by seatbelts. (See p.. 42 for important information on the protection of older children.) In any case, look at the legislation. ~ 22 ~

Protecting children (In some models) To commemorate the risks posed dall'airbag the passenger and the need to properly restrain children in the back seat, warning labels are fixed on the windshield and the pillar of the front passenger door. In some models, there are also sull'aletta parasol. Read and follow the instructions on these labels. WARNING, DANGER! Never install a rearward-facing infant seat on the right front seat if the car is equipped with an airbag on the passenger side. If you must carry more children The back seat of this car has three places where you can properly restrain children. If you need to carry more than three children in the car: Let the older child sit in the front seat, provided that it is large enough to properly use a seat belt (see p. 42).. back seat as possible (see p. 11).. Let the child sit upright with your back well supported against the backrest (see p. 17).. Make sure the belt is properly positioned and fixed (see p. 14).. ~ 23 ~

Protecting children If a child requires special attention According to many parents, it is preferable to put a baby or small child in the front seat, because so you can keep an eye, or because the child needs attention. Making a child sit in the front seat is exposed to risks arising dall'airbag, and keep an eye distracts the driver from driving, creating a very serious risk to security. If a child requires physical attention or frequent eye contact, it is absolutely recommended the presence of another adult with your child in the backseat. D back seat is much safer for the child than the front seat. Other safety precautions Use safety locks the doors so that children can open them. This will prevent children can open the doors and be accidentally thrown out of the car (see p. 84) Use the main switch power window (on some models) to prevent children can open the rear windows. This will prevent children can play with power windows, behavior that might expose them to risks or distract the driver (see p. 93) Do not leave children alone in the car. Leave the children without the supervision of an adult is illegal in some countries and can be very dangerous. For example, infants and young children left in the car on a hot day can die of heat stroke. Addition, children left alone with the key inserted in the ignition switch may accidentally start the car with risk of injury to themselves and others. ~ 24 ~

Protecting children General recommendations for the use of child safety seats I-e pages provide general instructions for the selection and installation of seat for small children and infants. Choosing the child seat the ER ensure adequate protection, a child seat must meet three requirements: 1. The child seat should meet safety standards. In most countries, child seats must comply with the requirements of the ECE regulation 44. Look for the approval on the seat and the declaration of conformity by the manufacturer on the box and on the seat. The manufacturer of the car disclaims any liability for any damage resulting from any manufacturing defects of seat recommended. 2. The seat must be of the type and size suitable for the child. Make sure the seat is suitable for the child. Check the manufacturer's specifications concerning the limits of weight and height. Infants: Children up to one year of age must be restrained on a chair tilted back turned. Only this type of seat provides the support necessary to protect the baby's head, neck and back. See page. 33 for more information on protecting infants. ~ 25 ~

Protecting children Children: A child too big for the car seat facing backward, unable to sit without support, must be restrained in a car seat facing forward. See page. 37 for more information on protecting children. 3. The seat must be suitable for position(s) on the seats where it will be used. Because of differences in the design of seats, seats and seat belts, not all seats can be fitted in all seats of the car. However, Honda is confident that it can correctly assemble one or more models of car seat in all positions recommended the car. When possible, we recommend that parents try the seat in position (s) specifies where it will be used before purchasing. If the seat previously purchased is not suitable, you may need to purchase a different model more suitable. For the countries of the European Union (EU), see page. 31 for the type of seat ~ 26 ~

Protecting children Positioning seat for children This page briefly summarizes the recommendations of Honda ranking of seats facing forward and backward in the car. Airbags pose a serious risk for children for the passenger airbag inflates with enough force to kill or seriously injure an infant held in a seat facing backward. Even a small child in a forward facing child seat is at risk. If the seat is too far forward, or the baby's head is thrown forward in case of impact, airbag, inflatable, can kill or seriously injure the child. If you need to run a small child in the front seat, follow the instructions. Front passenger seat Infants: Never in the front seat, because of the danger posed dall'airbag the passenger. Small children: Not recommended because of the danger posed dall'airbag the passenger. If you need to run a small child in the front seat, back seat as possible and secure the car seat facing forward with seat belts (see p. 38).. Rear seats Infants: Positions recommended. Fasten the seat facing backward with the seat belt (see p. 33).. Children: Positions recommended. Secure the car seat facing forward with seat belt (see p. 37).. For EU countries, go to page 30 for the positioning of the seat. ~ 27 ~

Protecting children Mounting child seat After choosing a car seat properly and a good location to mount, there are three main points to be followed during the installation: 1. Fasten the seat to the car with the seat belt. All seats must be secured to the car with the belt to the pelvis or the horizontal part of the pelvis belt / shoulder. A chair is not properly secured to the car can seriously endanger the lives of children and other occupants in the event of an accident. (Except European Union countries) If you use the belt basin / shoulder, be sure to apply a locking clip to your belt (see p. 40).. Go to the page. 34 and 39 for instructions on fixing the seat. 2. Make sure the seat is firmly fixed. After mounting the seat, push / pull it forward and from side to side to check the attachment. To provide adequate protection during normal driving maneuvers and in case of an accident, it is recommended that the child seat as firmly as possible. However, it is necessary that the seat is "firm as a rock." In some cars or positions, can be difficult to mount my seat so that it is perfectly still. E 'tolerate some movement from side to side and forward-back that should not reduce the effectiveness of the seat. ~ 28 ~

Protecting children If the seat is not properly set, try to mount it in a different seating position, or use a different model of car seat that can be firmly fixed in the desired position. er countries of the European Union (EU), p. ii go. 30 for the type of seat recommended. 3. Secure the child seat. Check that the child is securely attached to the seat as instructed by the manufacturer of the seat. A child not properly restrained can be thrown out of the seat, seriously injuring an accident and jeopardizes the safety of other occupants. How to store the seat when not in use the seat, remove it and store it in a safe place, or make sure it is properly fixed. A chair is not properly set can be projected in the cockpit in case of impact or sudden braking, injuring the occupants. ~ 29 ~

Protecting children Protecting children Can be adapted to other models of Honda cars seat different from those on the list in this section, but the adequacy of these models should be carefully checked with the manufacturer and retailer of car seats themselves. WARNING The use of a chair is not suitable for Honda cars does not adequately protect the child, which could then serious injury or death. ~ 32 ~

Protecting children Type of child seat To provide adequate support to the head, neck and back, infants up to one year old must be restrained in an appropriate child seat facing backwards. You can use two types of seat: a seat designed exclusively for infants, or used in a convertible car seat facing backward and reclining position. WARNING The placement of a child seat facing backwards on the front seat can cause serious injury or death in case of inflating airbag. Always place a child seat facing backwards on the back seat, not on the front. If recommended that infants traveling in a car seat facing backwards for as long as possible until they reach weight or height limits specified by the manufacturer of the seat and are able to sit without support. For the countries of the European Union (EU), go to page. 30 for the type of seat recommended. Positioning facing child seat back For EU countries, it should place an approved child seat facing backwards in a position outside of the seat back (see p. 34).. (Except country European Union) in this car, you can place a child seat facing backwards in any position of the back seat, but not in the front. ~ 33 ~

Protecting children Never place a child seat facing backwards on the front seat. The passenger airbag, inflatable, can hit the seat with enough force to kill or seriously injure the baby. If the baby needs close supervision, you may want to sit another adult in the backseat with the baby. Do not place a child seat that should be paid back into position facing forward. If the baby is facing forward, it risks serious injury in a frontal impact. Never place a child seat facing backwards on a seat protected dall'airbag front! The airbag, inflatable, can affect the child seat facing backwards with great violence. The seat can then be moved or hit with sufficient force to cause serious injury to the baby. Mounting child seat facing backwards with basin belt / shoulder belt positioned correctly for the basin / shoulder on a child seat, follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the seat itself. For the countries of the European Union (EU), go to page. 30 for mounting the seat. ~ 34 ~

Protecting children Except in the EU countries, when you fix a seat belt, turned back with the basin / shoulder, apply a locking clip to your belt (see page 40). Go to the next column for the attachment of a back seat facing the center of the back seat with the belt to the pelvis. Go to page. 36 for advice on mounting a child seat facing backwards with both types of seat belts. Mounting child seat facing backwards with Belt basin (except European Union countries) To fit a child seat facing backwards in the middle of the back seat with the belt for the pelvis, put the belt on the seat as instructed by the manufacturer of the seat itself, then insert the tab into the buckle. ~ 35 ~

Protecting children Pull the free end of the belt decision to extend it well (possibly to support weight on the seat while pulling the belt). Finally, push and pull the seat forward and from side to side to see if it is strong enough to stand upright during normal driving maneuvers. If the seat is not safe, unfasten the belt and repeat the procedure. Recommendations for mounting child seat facing backwards For maximum protection, the child must travel in a reclining position or reclined. To determine the correct angle, see the pediatrician, or follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the seat. To obtain the desired angle, possibly place a rolled towel under the bottom edge of the seat, as shown in the figure. If mounted properly, a car seat facing backward may prevent the driver or front passenger to his seat back as recommended (see p. 11).. Or it can hinder their ability to lock the backrest to the desired position (see p. 12).. In both cases, it is recommended to place the child seat directly behind the front passenger seat, move the front seat forward as necessary and let him go. Otherwise, you can buy a smaller car seat which can transport secure with a front passenger. ~ 36 ~

Protecting children An additional finishes for babies Never hold a baby in her lap. If you do not wear a seatbelt in the event of an accident you can be screened against the bridge, crushing the child. If you and fasten the seat belt, the child may be torn from her arms. For example, if the car collides with a stationary car at 48 km / h, a child develops a force of 9 kg to 275 kg and it becomes impossible to hold him. Do not ever pass the seat belt over yourself and a child. In case of accident, the belt could compress with force and cause the child injury biavissime. "Never let the children inginocchiino or are standing on the seats while the car is moving. The violent forces that occur in the event of sudden braking projects them forward. Children may bring serious injury or death." Protecting children Type of child seat A child can sit without support, and which falls within the limits of weight and height specified by the manufacturer of the seat must be restrained on a special car seat facing forward with back straight. ~ 37 ~

Protecting children Among the different models of car seats available, are recommended for those with a five-point anchoring system, as shown in the figure. It is also recommended placing the baby on the appropriate seat for as long as possible until it has reached the limits of weight or height of the seat. For the countries of the European Union (EU), go to page. 30 for the type of seat recommended. Positioning child seat facing forward This car is the best position to mount a car seat facing forward is the back seat. Place a child seat facing forward in the front seat of a car equipped with airbags for the passenger may be dangerous. If the seat is too far forward, or if the baby's head is thrown forward in an accident, the airbag, inflatable, can strike the child with enough force to kill or seriously wound him. If a baby requires close monitoring is recommended to do so travel back seat along with another adult. WARNING If you incorrectly place a child seat facing forward in the front seat is in danger of serious injury or death of the child in case of inflating airbags. If you must place a car seat facing forward on the front seat, back seat as possible and keep the child properly. If you need to place a car seat facing forward in the front seat, back seat as possible, then make sure that the seat is securely attached to the car and the child is properly restrained. ~ 38 ~

Protecting children Mounting facing child seat in m anti basin with belt / shoulder belt correctly position the RR li.i <ino / shoulder on the seat, the raids followed the manufacturer of the seat 'boiled. For European Union countries (EU), go to the page. 30 for mounting the seat. Except in the EU countries, when you fix a baby seat facing forward with the pelvis belt / shoulder, you must apply a locking clip to your belt (see p. 40).. Go to the next column for the attachment of a seat facing forward in the middle of the back seat with the belt to the pelvis. Mounting child seat forward facing with harness for the pelvis To mount a car seat facing forward in the middle of the back seat with the belt for the pelvis, put the belt on the seat as instructed by the manufacturer of the seat itself, then insert the tab into the buckle. ~ 39 ~

Protecting children Pull the free end of the belt decision to extend it well (possibly to support weight on the seat while pulling the belt). Push and pull the seat forward and from side to side to ensure it is strong enough to stand upright during normal driving maneuvers. If the seat is not safe, unfasten the belt and repeat the procedure. For the countries of the European Union (EU), go to page. 30 for mounting the seat. How to use the locking clip for a belt (Except country European Union) Always apply a locking clip to your belt when you set the car seat to dock with a belt / shoulder. This will prevent the child seat can be moved or overturned. The locking clip is usually supplied with the seat. If you need a clip, please contact the manufacturer of the seat or a store that sells safety equipment for children. To mount the clip locks, use the following steps: 1. Place the seat in the desired position. Pass the pelvis belt / shoulder through the seat according to the manufacturer's instructions. 2. Insert the tab into the buckle. Pull the diagonal belt to make sure that the horizontal part is very tense. 3. Firmly grasp the belt near the latch. Squeeze together both sides of the belt so it does not slip through the tab. Loosen the belt. ~ 40 ~

Protecting children The Fit the locking clip as shown. Position the clip as close as possible to the tongue. insert the tab into the buckle. Irar push the child seat to ensure it is stuck firmly in position 11. If not, repeat these steps until the seat is not properly insured. Additional precautions for children Never hold a baby in her lap. If you do not wear a seatbelt in the event of an accident you can be screened against the bridge, crushing the child. If you and fasten the seat belt, the child can be snatched from the arms in an accident. For example, if the car collides with a stationary car at 48 km / h, a child of 14 kg develops a force of 410 kg and it becomes impossible to hold him. Do not ever pass the seat belt over yourself and a child. In case of accident, the belt could collapse violently and cause the child serious injury. "Never let the children stand or kneel on the seats while the car is moving. The violent forces that occur in the event of sudden braking projects them forward. Children may bring serious injury or death." ~ 41 ~

Protecting children When a child reaches the weight limit or height recommended for the car seat facing forward, he must sit in a position outside of the rear seat and seat belt basin / shoulder. The belt basin / shoulder provides better protection than the Belt basin. If a child is too low to correctly position the diagonal part of the belt, it is recommended to use a chair lift until the child is big enough to use the seat belt without elevator. The following pages contain instructions on how to control the correct positioning of the belt, the type of chair lift to be used if necessary and important considerations for children seated in the front seat. WARNING If you leave an older child seat incorrectly in the front seat, this risk serious injury or death in case of inflating airbag. If you need to sit an older child in the front seat, he must back the seat as possible and fasten the seat belt properly. To determine if the pelvis belt / shoulder is suitable for the child to fasten the belt to the child, following the instructions on page. 14. Then check the positioning of the belt. ~ 42 ~

Protecting children If the diagonal part of the belt rests on the collarbone and the center of the chest, as shown above, the child is old enough to use seat belts. However, if the belt touches or crosses the neck of the child, they must use the chair lift. The child should not use a seat belt if it crosses his neck. This could cause serious neck injuries in an accident. Your child should not pass the part of the diagonal belt behind your back or under the arm. This could cause serious injuries in an accident. It also increases the risk that the child sliding under the belt are injured in an accident. Not incidental to fix seat belts. The devices in improved occupant comfort or reposition the part of the diagonal belt seriously compromise the protection offered by seat belts, increasing the risk of serious injury in an accident. Two children should never use the same seat belt. In this case, could feritisi very serious accident. Use of seat lift If your child needs to lift chair, it is recommended to choose a model that allows the child to use the pelvis belt / shoulder directly, without protection, as shown in the figure. Whichever model you choose, follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the chair lift. ~ 43 ~

Protecting children A child may continue to use the chair lift until the top of the ears reach the top of the backrest. When it reaches this level, the child should be tall enough to use the pelvis belt / shoulder seat without elevator. When the older children can sit in front It is recommended to travel all children under the age of 12 years on the back seat properly restrained. The back seat is the safest place for children of any age or size. Furthermore, the passenger airbag is a serious danger to children. If the seat is too far forward, or the baby's head is projected forward during an accident, or the child is not restrained or badly positioned, inflating airbag can kill or seriously injure the child. Of course, children are very different between them. Even if the age can give us an indication if the child can travel safely in the front seat, there are other important factors to consider. Physical Dimensions Physically, the child must be large enough for the belt basin / shoulder rests properly on the pelvis, chest and shoulder (see pp. 14 and 42). If the belt does not fit perfectly, the child must sit in the front seat. Adults To be able to travel safely in the front seat, the child must be able to follow several rules, including maintaining the correct position and always use seat belts properly. ~ 44 ~

Protecting children If you decide that a child can travel safely in the front seat, make sure: Read your owner's manual and make sure you understand all instructions regarding safety belts and safety. Check that the seat belt of the child is correctly positioned and fixed. Carefully check the baby. Even for older children sometimes need to remember to fasten your seat belt or sit properly. back seat as possible. Let the child sit upright with your back well supported against the backrest and your feet on or near the floor. ~ 45 ~

Additional information on safety belts Components of seat belts The system includes seat belt safety belt Basin / shoulder on the front seats and outer rear seats, and a belt for the basin in the middle of the back seat. In some models, the system also includes a warning light on the instrument panel to remind the occupants to fasten their seatbelts. If the driver's belt is not fastened, before turning the ignition switch on ignition (II), indicator lights and a buzzer also sounds. The buzzer goes off after a few seconds, but the light stays on until the driver has not fastened his belt. Basin belt / shoulder This belt has only a diagonal part that goes over the shoulder, chest and pelvis. Rewind the belt lift back up to the door pillar. After exiting the car, make sure the belt is not closed in the door. All basin belts / shoulder Furling have a selflocking emergency. During normal driving, the Furling can move freely on the seat while maintaining some tension on the belt. In the event of impact or sudden braking, the Furling automatically locks into position so as to keep the body. See page. 14 for instructions on how to properly use the pelvis belt / shoulder. To fasten the belt, insert the tab into the buckle, then pull the belt to make sure the buckle is locked. To unfasten the belt, press the PRESS on the buckle. ~ 46 ~

Additional information on safety belts Make sure that both seat belts are positioned in front of the back side of the back seat whenever they are erected. Maintenance of safety belts For safety, regularly check the condition of the belts. Completely pull out each belt and check for lint, cuts, burns and signs of wear. Check that the buckles are operating smoothly and that the basin belts / shoulder rewind with ease. A belt that is not good or not working properly does not provide adequate protection and should be replaced soon. ATTENTION: The user will not make changes or additions that affect the proper functioning of the mechanisms that tend to prevent the belt or belts them to be tense. The absence of checks or maintenance of safety belts can cause serious injury or death if the belts do not work properly when needed. Regularly check the safety belts and to repair any problems as soon as possible. If you wear a belt during an accident, have it checked by the dealer and replace if necessary. A belt worn during an accident can not provide the same degree of protection in an accident later. The dealer should also inspect the anchors for signs of damage and replace if necessary. ~ 48 ~

Additional information on safety belts CAUTION: It is essential that the safety belts and related mechanisms are replaced after an incident of considerable gravity, even if the damage is not apparent. CAUTION: Be careful not to contaminate the fabric with polishes, oils and other chemicals, particularly acid battery. Cleaning can be done with soap and water. Replace the belt if the fabric is worn, contaminated or damaged. The airbag for the driver is placed at the center of the steering wheel, the front passenger airbag is placed in the dashboard. Both are marked by the words "SRS AIRBAG. Sensors that are activated in the event of a violent frontal impact. A light located in the instrument panel reporting the presence of any fault in the system (see pp. 64). Auxiliary power supply emergency in case the car's electrical system to be disabled by the violence of the impact. If forntale violent impact, the sensors detect rapid deceleration and send the control unit signals inflating airbags. ~ 50 ~

Additional information on the SRS (in some models) In case of accident, the safety belt holds the position in the trunk and pelvis. The airbag as a cushion whose function is to hold in position and protect the head and chest. Since both airbags use the same sensors normally inflate both simultaneously. However, it is possible that inflates an airbag only. This can occur when the intensity of impact is the limit, or threshold, which determines whether the airbag should inflate or not. In such cases, the belt provides sufficient protection, and the additional protection offered dall'airbag would be minimal. After inflating, the airbags will deflate immediately so as not to interfere with the driver's view or action of the steering or other controls. The total time of inflation and deflation is about one-tenth of a second, so the occupants do not usually realize the activation of airbags until they see collapsed on his knees. After an accident, you can see what looks like smoke. In reality it is dust from the surface of deployment. Even if the dust is not harmful, people with respiratory problems may suffer some symptoms temporarily. In this case, exit the car when it is safe to do so. ~ 51 ~

Additional information on the SRS (in some models) Seat belt pretensioners Operation Your Honda is equipped with automatic tensioners as an additional safety measure in case of violent frontal impact. In the case of violent frontal impact, the pretensioners tend instantly Front seatbelts to hold occupants in place. The belts have remained strained until they are loose in the normal way. Airbags and seat belt pretensioners for the driver and front passenger have separate deceleration sensors that operate independently. Operation of the SRS indicator - Inform the driver of a possible problem in the system of extra safety. When you turn the ignition switch on ignition (II), this lamp lights up briefly and then extinguished. This means that the system is in order. 114 Trial period, Fuel To ensure the reliability and future performance of the car, pay special attention to the driving style during the first 1,000 miles. During this period: Avoid accelerating quickly or thoroughly. If you need to add oil, used motor oil recommended in this manual (see page 165 or 169). Avoid hard braking. The new brakes should not be tried for the first 300 km of running. Follow the same precautions in case of revision or replacement of engine or after replacement of brake linings. Petrol models Model KY (D14A6 engine): The engine must be fueled with gasoline leaded with octane (RON) of 91 or more. You can also use unleaded petrol with octane number (RON) of 91 or more. Except model KY: The optimal functioning of this Honda car requires premium unleaded gasoline with octane number (RON) of 95 or more. In some areas may not be available gasoline with the octane recommended. In this case, you can use gasoline with lower octane if that does not cause engine knocking. The use of leaded gasoline will damage the emission control system and engine. This also contributes to air pollution. Diesel This Honda car only uses diesel fuel (also known as diesel fuel). The quality of diesel fuel (diesel) may vary in different countries: only use good quality fuel. It 'important that the sulfur content of diesel fuel does not exceed 1% in Europe, all diesel fuel must meet this limit, but in other parts of the world should be asked for confirmation to the attendant. ~ 114 ~

WARNING The fuel can ignite spilled or explode, causing serious injury or death. Always check for leaks of fuel before resetting the switch. ~ 121 ~

How to save fuel The conditions of the car and driving style are the two most important factors that affect fuel consumption. Condition of car Always follow the directions contained in the table maintenance. In this way the car will be maintained in perfect working order. An important part of maintenance is represented by periodic inspection (see p.. 162). For example, a flat tire increases the friction on the road, which increases fuel consumption. Moreover, the tire will wear more rapidly, therefore, check the tire pressure at least once a month. In winter, the accumulation of snow on the underbody of the car increases the weight and friction on the road. Frequent cleaning reduces fuel consumption and the risk of rust. Driving habits A smooth driving improves fuel economy. The rapid acceleration, the steering and braking sudden sharp increase in fuel consumption. Driving always inserted into top gear that allows the operation of the engine and acceleration regular cake. Compatibly with the traffic conditions, try to maintain a constant speed. Every time you slow down and speeds up, the car consumes more fuel. A cold engine consumes more fuel a hot engine. It is not necessary to "warm up", leaving a cold engine idling for a prolonged period. E 'can start to drive after about a minute, no matter how low the temperature outside. The engine thus heats more quickly and saves fuel. To reduce the number of "cold starts," try to combine many small trips into one trip. And air conditioning (standard on some models) is a further strain on the engine, which then consumes more fuel. Turn off the air conditioner to reduce consumption. Using the flow ventilation when the outside air temperature is mild. ~ 122 ~

Preparation Guide Make the following checks and adjustments every day before you start driving. 1. Make sure all windows, mirrors and outside lights are clean and mackerel. Remove any frost, snow or ice. 2. Check that the bonnet and the tailgate is completely closed. 3. Inspect tires. If a tire is deflated, check the pressure with a manometer. 4. Check items eventalmente transported inside the car until firmly set. 5. Check seat adjustment (see p. 86).. 6. Check the adjustment of interior and exterior mirrors (see page. 95). 7. Check the adjustment of the steering wheel (see page. 76). 8. Make sure the doors are closed and locked. 9. Fasten your seatbelt. Check that passengers are wearing a safety belt value (see page. 14). 10. Turn the ignition switch in ON position (II). Check the lights on the instrument panel. 11. Start the engine (see page. 131 or 133). 12. Check the indicators and lights in the instrument panel (see page. 60). ~ 130 ~

Starting the engine (petrol models) 1. Enter the parking brake. 2. At low temperatures, turn off all electrical devices to reduce demand for energy to the battery. 3. Manual transmission: Press down the clutch pedal and bring the gear in neutral. Automatic transmission: Make sure the shift lever is in position P. Press the brake pedal. 4. Without touching the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition key in START position (III). If the engine does not start immediately, do not hold the key to START (III) for more than 15 seconds at a time. Wait at least 10 seconds before attempting to start. 5. If the engine does not start within 15 seconds, or starts but stops immediately, repeat step 4 with the accelerator pressed halfway. If the engine starts, release the accelerator pedal so as not to send out the engine RPM. 6. If the engine still does not start, press down the accelerator pedal and hold it during startup to prevent flooding. As before, hold the ignition key to START position (III) no later than 15 seconds. Return to Step 5 if the engine will not start. If you start, lift your foot off the accelerator pedal so as not to send out the engine RPM. ~ 131 ~

Starting the engine (petrol models) Starting at low temperatures and high altitude (over 2,400 meters) A major difficulty with motor starts at low temperatures. Moreover, the air is rarefied at high altitudes (over 2,400 meters) is an additional element of difficulty. Follow the procedure below: 1. Turn off all electrical accessories to reduce demand for energy to the battery. 2. Press the accelerator pedal half way and hold that position while you start the engine. Do not hold the ignition key in START position (III) for more than 15 seconds. When the engine starts, release the accelerator pedal gradually as the RPM increases and the motor is stabilized. 3. If the engine does not start at point 2 press down the accelerator pedal and hold while you try to start the engine for no more than 15 seconds. If the engine does not start, return to step 2. If the outside temperature is below 0 C, or the car has not been driven for several days, warm up the engine for several minutes before you start driving (illegal in Germany!). ~ 132 ~

Starting the engine (diesel models) 1. Enter the parking brake. 2. Turn off all electrical devices to reduce power consumption from the battery. 3. Press down the clutch pedal and bring the gear in neutral. 4. Turn the ignition key to ON (II). Wait for the light glow plugs are off. 5. Without touching the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition key in START position (III), and release it when the engine is running. If the engine does not start immediately, do not hold the key to START (III) for more than 10 seconds at a time. Wait at least 10 seconds before attempting to start. 6. If the engine does not start within 10 seconds, or starts but turns off immediately, return the key to LOCK (0), then repeat steps 4 and 5. Cold climates In very cold climates, it may take several seconds for the battery indicator and oil pressure warning light go off. Similarly, starting the engine may take longer. Heating For increased fuel economy, it is advisable to start driving immediately, remembering that the sudden acceleration and the stresses on the engine before it has reached normal operating temperature can damage the engine. ~ 133 ~

Starting the engine (diesel), 5-speed manual transmission NOTE The number of revolutions of the engine must not exceed idle speed until the oil pressure warning light has not died. This ensures proper lubrication of the engine and turbocharger bearings before the engine reaches normal engine speeds. To avoid the risk of damaging the bearings of the turbocharger due to inadequate lubrication, always leave the engine idling for 10 seconds before turning it off. The manual transmission is synchronized in all forward gears to ensure smooth operation. It has many also have a locking device which prevents direct from fifth gear to reverse. During the transition to a higher gear or below, be sure to press down the clutch pedal, change gear and release the pedal gradually. When you are not changing gears, do not put your foot on the clutch pedal to prevent premature wear of the clutch itself. 5-speed manual transmission ~ 134 ~

5-speed manual transmission Complete stop before entering the reverse. You can damage the transmission if you try to insert the reverse with the car moving. Press the clutch pedal and wait several seconds before entering the reverse, or enter for a moment one of the forward gears. This will stop the gears so that no "grattino." It 'can use the engine braking by changing to a lower gear. This auxiliary braking action helps maintain a safe speed and avoid overheating of the brakes when you go down a steep road. Before proceeding to the next lower gear, make sure that the speed of the engine does not enter into the tachometer red zone with the lower gear. See the table showing the maximum rate. ATTENTION Sudden acceleration or deceleration can lose control of the car on slippery surfaces, with the risk of accidents and injury to the occupants. Be especially careful when driving on slippery surfaces. NOTE (Diesel models only) Do not put your hand on the shifter while driving, the pressure exerted by hand can cause premature wear of the gear selection mechanism. Recommended speed for gear change Driving inserted into top gear to enable the smooth functioning of engine acceleration and desserts. This will save fuel and gain better control of emissions. We recommend the following speed change gear: ~ 135 ~

5-speed manual transmission Maximum speed The table opposite show the maximum speed for each gear. If you exceed these speeds, the speed of the engine enters the red zone of the tachometer. In this case, you may experience a loss of the engine blows. This is due to limiter built-in computerized engine controls. The engine returns to normal once reduced the number of turns below the red zone. Before climbing gear, make sure the car does not exceed the speed limit indicated in the table in the lower gear to prevent engine damage. ~ 136 ~

Automatic Transmission The automatic transmission this car has four forward gears. And 'torque converter also equipped with "lock" to ensure better fuel economy. One has the feeling that there is another gear when the torque converter locks. Shift lever position indicator This light on the instrument panel shows in which position is the shift lever. Positions of the gear lever The shift lever has seven positions. Must be in position P (parking) or N (Neutral) to start the engine. When you stop with the lever in position D4, D3, 2,1, N 0 R, press down the brake pedal and keep your foot off the accelerator pedal. ~ 137 ~

Automatic Transmission Parking (P) - This position mechanically locks change. Using the P position every time you turn off or start the engine. To change from P position to another gear, press the brake pedal and keep your foot off the accelerator pedal, press the release button on the side of the gear lever to move the lever. Press the reset button for changing from one gear to P. To avoid damage to the gearbox, completely stop the car before changing InP. Reverse (R) - Add the reverse of the position P, read the explanation under the apron. To insert the reverse of the position N, the car stopped completely, press the release button, then change. Neutral (N) - Use the crowds if you must restart the engine was turned off, or if you have to stop briefly with the engine idling. Switch to position P if you must leave the car for any reason. Press the brake pedal when you move the shift lever from neutral to another location. Drive (D4) - Use this position for normal driving. The transmission automatically selects the best gear for that speed and acceleration. Drive (D3) - This position is similar to Q4, except that only the first three gears are selected. D3 use to tow a trailer or use the engine braking downhill. D3 also prevents the exchange rate to move repeatedly from third to fourth gear and vice versa while driving with frequent stops. To obtain a faster acceleration when in D3 or D4, you can get the automatic transition to a lower gear by depressing the accelerator pedal. The change will scale one or two gears, depending on the speed of the car. ~ 138 ~

Automatic Transmission Two (2) - To get to the second, press the release button on the side of the gear lever. This position locks the gearbox in second and prevents the transition to first during a stop. The second provides more power and increases uphill engine braking downhill. Use the other for starting on slippery surfaces or on snow: in this way reduces wheel spin. Before (1) - To go from second to first, press the release button on the side of the gear lever. With the lever in this position, the gearbox is stuck in first gear. Changed from 1 to 2, D3 and D4 and vice versa is possible to use the gearbox as a manual gearbox without a clutch pedal. Maximum permitted speed The table at right shows the maximum speed for each gear. If you exceed these speeds, the speed of the engine enters the red zone of the tachometer. In this case, you may feel a loss of blows to the machinery. This is due to limiting device incorporated in the computerized engine controls. The engine starts to operate normally once reduced the number of turns below the red zone. Before climbing gear, make sure the car does not exceed the speed limit indicated in the table in the lower gear to prevent engine damage. Position Maximum allowed speed 1 58 km/h km/h Da 171 km/h ~ 139 ~

Parking Always use the parking brake when you park the car. The light in the instrument panel indicates that the parking brake is not completely disconnected, does not indicate that it is fully inserted. Make sure the parking brake is fully inserted, otherwise the car might move if parked on a slope. If the car is equipped with automatic transmission, put the parking brake before bringing the shift lever in position P. This will prevent the vehicle moving and not apply pressure to the parking mechanism for change - then it becomes easier to move the shift lever position P when you want to resume driving. If the car is facing uphill, the steering wheel toward the center of the road. If the car has manual transmission, put the first gear. If the car is facing downhill, steer the wheels toward the side of the road. If the car has manual transmission, put the reverse. Make sure the parking brake is fully disengaged before you start driving. Driving with the brake partially attached may cause overheating or damage to the rear brakes. Tips for parking Make sure the roof and windows are closed. Turn off the lights. Place packages, valuables, etc.. in the trunk or take them with you. Lock the doors with the key or remote control. Never park over dry leaves, grass or other flammable materials. The threeway catalytic converter gets very hot and can ignite these materials. ~ 140 ~

Braking system Your Honda car is equipped with front disc brakes. The rear brakes may be disc or drum, depending on model and equipment. The brake booster helps to reduce the effort required on the brake pedal. The ABS helps maintain directional control of the car during emergency braking. Put your foot on the brake pedal only when you intend to brake. Leaving the foot on the pedal, the brakes are kept slightly activated, and this causes it to overheat. This may reduce the efficiency of the brakes, also in this way the stop lights remain switched on continuously, which can confuse motorists below. The continuous descent of the brakes causes overheating and reduces their efficiency. Exploit the engine braking by changing to a lower gear and removing your foot from the accelerator pedal. Check your brakes after going through very deep puddles. Operate the brakes slightly to verify its efficiency. If this is not normal, apply the brakes gently and repeatedly until they resume normal operation. As the brakes are wet increases the stopping distance, pay special attention to these driving conditions. Brake wear indicators The front disc brakes on all cars have wear indicators clearly audible. In some models, are also present on the rear brakes. When the pads need replacing, you hear a distinctive "screech" metallic whenever the brakes are applied. If you do not replace the pads, they will begin to screech constantly. The brakes can sometimes produce a squeak or creak when driven gently. Do not confuse this sound with the true sound of brake wear indicator, a "screeching" clearly audible. ~ 141 ~

Outline of the brake system The hydraulic system that operates the brakes and dual circuit separately. Each circuit works diagonally (the left front brake is connected to the right rear brake, etc.).. If a circuit should have a problem, remains intact braking capacity on two wheels. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) (In some models) The ABS (antilock brake system) helps maintain directional control of the car, preventing the blockage and the resulting wheel slip in emergency braking situations. If the front wheels slip, you lose directional control of the car and this continues in a straight line even if you turn the steering wheel. LABS is used to prevent wheel lock and maintain directional control and stopping quickly restore the pressure in the braking circuit, much faster than it can the driver. You should never "pump" the brake pedal, because it undermines the function dellabs. Allow to operate the ABS maintaining a constant pressure on the brake pedal as he swerves to avoid the obstacle. This maneuver is called "braking and steering." ~ 142 ~

Outline of the brake system There is a pulsation on the brake pedal when ABS is activated, and you can hear a noise. This is normal: it is the ABS is modulating the pressure acting on the brakes. Activation varies with the degree of adherence of the tires. In dry conditions, you must press down the brake pedal to activate the ABS. However, the ABS is activated immediately if you try to stop the car on snow or ice. Important rules of safety The ABS does not reduce the rate or the stopping of the car, only helps to maintain directional control during braking. Always respect the safety distance. The ABS does not prevent the stragglers due to abrupt changes of direction, as the entry into a curve too fast or a sudden lane change. Always keep a safe speed in relation to road conditions and weather. A car with ABS may require more stopping distances on slippery or uneven surfaces, like snow or gravel, compared to a car without ABS. Slow down and keep a safe distance greater in these conditions. Braking system The ABS can not prevent the loss of stability. Always steer gently in the event of sudden braking. Swerve may also cause him skidding into the opposite lane or off road. ~ 143 ~

Outline of the brake system The ABS has self-diagnostic function. This function is also active whenever the brakes are applied. In the event of system problems, you turn the ABS light in the instrument panel (see pp. 64). This means that the function of anti-lock braking system is disabled. The brakes then work like a conventional system without anti-lock function, ensuring a normal braking capacity. To control the car by the dealer as soon as possible if this light stays on after starting the engine or if you turn on while driving. ~ 144 ~

Driving in bad weather The rain, fog and snow require different driving skills due to reduced grip and visibility. Healing the maintenance of the car and pay special attention when driving in bad weather. Driving Techniques - Keep a slower speed than the drive in dry weather. Reaction times of the car are getting longer, even in wet conditions a minimum. Operate all controls with sweetness. Swerve or sudden braking may cause loss of control in the wet. Pay particular attention during the first few miles of driving while you are adjusting to changing conditions. This applies above all to drive on snow. It 'possible that you forget the techniques of driving in the snow during the summer months. It 'must therefore ensure that practice to refamiliarize themselves with these techniques. Exercise extreme caution when driving in the rain or after a prolonged period of dry weather. The first rain after months of dry weather, oily substances deposited on the surface of the road surface, making it slippery. ~ 145 ~

Driving in bad weather Visibility - Have a good visibility in all directions, and be clearly visible to other drivers, is essential in all weather conditions. This is more difficult with the weather. To increase the visibility of their car during the day, turn on the beam. Check the wiper / washer system at frequent intervals. Keep the windscreen washer reservoir sourced the special liquid. Replace wiper blades if they leave streaks on the windshield or not cleaned well. Use the defroster and air conditioning (standard on some models) to prevent internal fogging of windows (see p. 110).. Adherence of the tires - Check tire pressure and wear at frequent intervals. Both these devices are important to avoid the 'hydroplaning "(loss of grip on wet surfaces). In winter, mount snow tires on all four wheels to improve handling of the car. Pay particular attention to the road because they can change at any time. The wet leaves can be slippery as ice. Roads apparently "Mackerel" may have limited slabs of ice. The guide can be especially risky when the outside temperature approaches 0 C. The road surface may be covered with pools of water mixed with ice sheets, which can compromise the adhesion of the tires suddenly. We recommend particular caution in downshifting. If the adhesion to the road is poor, you could for a moment cause the block resulting in slippage of the driving wheels of the car. Be very careful when you are overtaking or overtaken by other cars. The cloud water produced by larger vehicles reduces visibility and turbulence can cause loss of control. ~ 146 ~

Tow a trailer Your Honda is designed primarily for transporting passengers and their luggage. Tow a trailer is allowed only to observe the following guidelines. The total weight of the trailer (with or without brakes) plus its load must not exceed the maximum weight towable. See page 262. The load on the tow bar "must not exceed 50 kg. This is the weight that the trailer hitch to carry on full load. With trailers weighing less than 500 kg, as a general rule, the load on the hitch should be 10% by weight of the trailer load. For example, if the trailer and its load weigh 225 kg, the load on the hitch should be 22.5 kg. Distribute the luggage contents in the trailer in order to vary the load on the hitch. Start loading about 60% of the luggage at the front and 40% in the rear. With a trailer load of weight exceeding 500 kg may be necessary to move the load toward the rear. Never load the trailer so that the back is heavier than the front: this reduces the weight on the rear of the car and lose grip. The particulars of the weight max. are allowed on pages The maximum weight the vehicle is the total weight of vehicle, driver, passengers, baggage, cargo and towing vertical rod. Remember that the installation of optional (and therefore also the weight of the front of any trailer) reduces the load capacity of the car. In some models with automatic transmission, is expected to request an additional radiator for transmission oil (ATF) to allow increasing the maximum trailer weight (see page. 262). The additional heater can be ordered by a Honda dealer. ATTENTION Incorrect loading of the car and trailer can seriously affect the braking and steering ability, with accidents causing serious injury. Carefully check the load of the car and trailer before you start driving. ~ 147 ~

Tow a trailer The best way to verify that the total weight of the trailer part of this specification is to weigh it. Load the car and trailer as you normally would for towing, and bring to a public weighbridge. Have the total weight and the weight on each axle, then compare the weights reported with the specifications. Towbars H coupling device must be of size and form suitable for car and trailer towing. Consult an expert before buying a hitch, and it installed by a qualified technician. Bolt hook to the underside and distribute the load over a large area. Never use tow hooks that attach only to the rear bumper. The bumper is not designed to support this type of load. See page. 263 for the points of attachment of the hitch. NOTE A hitch is not suitable to the size of the trailer or mounted incorrectly can cause damage to the underbody of the car. Mirrors There may be legislation that requires special mirrors to tow a trailer. Check the laws in force in their country. You can choose to mount these mirrors, even if not required by law. Hook the trailer and check the visibility decreases as rear view mirrors standard. If you can not see directly behind themselves, or there is a huge blind spot next to the trailer or the car, mount the mirrors suitable for towing. ~ 148 ~

Tow a trailer Connecting the trailer If you plan to buy a trailer with brakes, make sure that they are electrically operated. You can not connect to the hydraulic brake of the car. Any attempt to connect the trailer brakes to the hydraulic system of the car, however successful it may seem, reduces braking efficiency and creates a potential hazard. Always use a safety chain when towing a trailer. Securely connect both ends of the chain. Make sure that the chain passes under the wheel so as to catch the trailer if it disengages. Do not stretch over the chain in order to prevent jamming in case of tight corners, and do not let them touch the ground. Light trailer The car comes with a connector for trailer lights, in the trunk near the tail light left. Look at the color codes for design and function of each pin. Since the lights and wiring may differ from one model to another trailer, modify the link to the lights by a technician who is familiar with your trailer. You may need a converter between car and trailer for the proper functioning of lights. ~ 149 ~

Tow a trailer Before you travel Measure the load on the trailer drawbar using a normal bathroom scale: Measure the load on the drawbar of the trailer using a standard bathroom scale. Check that the hitch and safety chain are secure. Check the condition and pressure of all tires on the trailer and car. A low pressure can seriously affect the handling. Also check the spare tire. Completed the connected load and the trailer, check that the rear of the car is not lowered. In this case, redistribute the load in the car. Check that all lights on the car and the trailer work properly. Be sure to check the rules concerning restrictions on speed and driving cars with trailers. If you must cross several countries, check the laws in force in each country before leaving, as this can vary. (Model EU) The running speed when towing a trailer must be limited to 100 km / h. Safety when towing The car's stopping distances become longer with a trailer in tow. Increasing the safety distance with other cars. Avoid sudden braking or steering. May cause skidding or overturning of the trailer. Remember that the overall vehicle is now much longer. E 'need more room for steering. The trailer describes a smaller arc of the car and may strike or pass over barriers prevented the car. When passing, make sure there is enough space for the trailer before changing lanes. ~ 150 ~

Tow a trailer The combination car / trailer suffers most from crosswinds or turbulence. When you are overtaken by a large vehicle, keep a steady speed and a straight trajectory. If the other car has created excessive turbulence, slow to move away. Tow a trailer is an additional load on the car. Perform maintenance in accordance with the 'Table Maintenance in severe driving conditions "page This additional load is further increased when driving on sloping sections. Keep an eye on the temperature gauge while driving uphill. If you approach the hot zone, turn off the unit (if on). If this does not reduce the temperature, you may need to pull over and wait for the engine to cool. Also, turn off the unit if the running speed is greatly reduced on sloping sections. If the needle of the temperature rises still further when driving in second gear, slow down below 60 km / h. If the automatic transmission performs frequent gear changes, shift gears. This will prevent overheating of the transmission. Also avoid overheating the brakes down during climbing gear. It is recommended to tow trailers which were approved and in perfect condition. If you must stop when driving uphill, do not hold the car pressing the accelerator. This may overheat the automatic transmission. Use the parking brake or the brake pedal. When you park the car and trailer, especially on sloping sections, follow all normal precautions. Steering wheel to the side of the road, push the brake and bring the gear or the reverse (manual) or P position (automatic). Also, place all the wedges under the wheels of the trailer. Run a reverse with a trailer is a difficult operation that requires practice. Drive slowly turning the steering wheel gently and get help from someone outside the vehicle. Grasp the wheel at the bottom (instead of near the top as usual). Move the left hand to make the trailer turn left, turn right to do it right. ~ 151 ~

Table maintenance Table Maintenance specifies all maintenance required to keep the car in optimal working condition. Maintenance should be performed according to standards and specifications by qualified personnel and equipped Honda. The authorized Honda dealer meets these requirements. There are two types of road maintenance. In Europe, the regulatory A Table Maintenance (see page. 155 to 158). In other countries, the applicable Maintenance Chart B (see p and 160). The operations and maintenance schedule listed in the table assume the use of the car as a normal means of transport for passengers and luggage. Also follow these recommendations: Avoid exceeding the load limit of the car. This represents an additional stress to the engine, brakes and many other car components. Driving the car on roads reasonably well maintained within the legal speed limits. Driving the car regularly for several kilometers. Always use only the fuel recommended (see page. 114). We recommend the use of genuine Honda parts and fluids or equivalent maintenance. These are the same high quality components mounted on the car when it was new, and this is a guarantee of perfect compatibility and operation. ~ 154 ~

Engine oil (Gasoline Models) Adding oil To top up the oil, unscrew and remove the filler cap placed on the valve cap. Pour the oil and riawitare Tighten the cap. Wait a few minutes and recheck the oil level. Do not exceed the upper mark to avoid damaging the engine. Recommended oil The oil is essential to ensure efficiency and durability of the car. Always use oil cleanser of gradation above.select oil SAE viscosity suitable for the car according to this table: ~ 165 ~

Engine oil (Gasoline Models) Additives This car Honda does not need additives to the oil. The purchase of additives to the engine or transmission does not increase performance or longevity of the car. It only increases operating costs. Replace oil and filter Always replace the oil filter and its second time intervals or mileages shown in the table maintenance. Oil and oil filter collects contaminants that can damage the engine if not removed at regular intervals. The replacement of oil and related filter requires special tools and access from the underside. The car is raised on a hydraulic lift from the workshop for that intervention. If you do not have the knowledge and the correct equipment, to perform such an intervention by a qualified technician. WARNING Prolonged and repeated contact with engine oil may cause the weary skin cancer. Wash hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling motor oil. 1. Do not go until the engine reaches normal operating temperature, then shut it down. ~ 166 ~

Engine oil (Gasoline Models) WARNING The oil, engine parts and exhaust system are very hot and can cause burns. Be careful and wear protective clothing when working on the engine. 2. Open the bonnet and remove the oil filler cap. Remove the drain bolt and washer from the base of the engine. Allow oil to drain into a disposal unit. 3. Remove the oil filter and allow it to drain the residual oil. To remove the filter, you need a special key. ~ 167 ~

Engine oil (Gasoline Models) 5. Put a new washer on the bolt outlet and refit the bolt. Tighten the bolt to the following torque: 44 N m (4.5 kgfrn) 6. Supply the engine with the recommended oil. Engine capacity (filter included): Engine 1.4l, 1.5l and 1.6l: 3.6l Engine 1.8l: 4.0l 8. Let go of the engine for several minutes and check for leaks from the bolt and the exhaust filter. 9. Turn off the engine, leave it off for several minutes, then check the oil level. If necessary, add oil up to the mark than the shaft of control. NOTE Deleting incorrect engine oil can damage the environment. If you personally replace the oil, discard the used oil according to proper procedure. Close it in a sealed container and bring it to a recycling center. Do not throw it in the bin or on the ground. 7. Replace the oil filler cap. Start the engine. The oil pressure indicator light should turn off within 5 seconds. If you do not turn off, turn off the engine and recheck your work. ~ 168 ~

Cooling system (gasoline models) Refill engine coolant If the level of liquid refrigerant in the tank is at or below the MIN mark, add fluid to bring it back to the sign MAX. Check for leaks from the cooling circuit. The coolant should always be a mixture of 50% antifreeze and 50% water. Never add antifreeze or just water alone. Always use antifreeze / coolant original Honda. Mountains cooling system components are aluminum, and therefore can corrode if a frost is used incorrectly. Some antifreeze, even if the label is declared safe for aluminum parts, may also not provide adequate protection. If the reserve tank is completely empty, also check the level of coolant in the radiator. WARNING If removing the radiator cap motor still warm, the coolant can escape spray causing severe burns. Always allow the engine to cool before removing the radiator and radiator cap. Refill engine coolant 1. Make sure the engine and radiator are cold. ~ 174 ~

Cooling system (gasoline models) 2. Turn the radiator cap counter-clockwise, without pressing on it until it stops. This will give vent to residual pressure in the cooling system. 3. Remove the radiator cap by pressing on it and turning it counterclockwise. 4. The level of coolant should reach the base of the filler neck. Add liquid if the level is lower. 5. Air Conditioner (Optional) The air conditioning system of this car is sealed type. The major maintenance, such as recharging, should be performed by a qualified technician. However, there are a couple of operations that can be made by the owner to ensure the efficiency of the plant. ~ 200 ~

Air conditioning, pollen filter Periodically check that there are no leaves, insects or dirt on the front surface of the engine radiator and condenser of air conditioner. Such debris can block the airflow and reduce cooling efficiency. Remove debris with a light spray with water or a soft brush. NOTE The fins of the radiator and condenser are easily bent. Use only a low-pressure spray or brush with soft bristles for cleaning. If the air conditioner does not cool as it should, this is probably due to a loss of coolant from the system. Have the dealer check the system and refill with refrigerant HFC-134a (R-134a). NOTE Every time you service the air conditioner, make sure the shop uses a refrigerant recycling system: with this system, the refrigerant is recovered for further use. The discharge of refrigerant into the atmosphere can cause environmental damage. Pollen filter (some models) The pollen filter is mounted in the installation of ventilation. Serves to protect the cockpit from the penetration of pollen or dust. The pollen filter should be replaced every 12 months or 30,000 km, whichever occurs first. Do replace the pollen filter from the Honda dealer at the scheduled maintenance. See also Table Maintenance (page 155). Operate the air conditioner at least once a week during the winter months. Get it going for at least 10 minutes while maintaining a constant speed drive with the engine at normal operating temperature. This will cause the oil in the coolant loop. ~ 201 ~

Engine Belts (Gasoline Models) Check the tension of each belt by pressing it with your thumb at a point midway between the pulleys. The belts should have the following "game" or failure. Alternator belt (Model DOHC VTEC) 9,0-11,0 mm (Except DOHC VTEC model) 7,0-10,5 mm Power steering belt (Model DOHC VTEC) 11,5-13,5 mm (Except DOHC VTEC model) 10,5-14,0 mm (On vehicles with A / C) compressor belt: 7.5 to 9.5 mm If you notice signs of wear or loosening to adjust or replace the straps from your dealer. ~ 202 ~

Tyres For safe driving, the tires must be of the type and correct size in very good condition with adequate tread and proper inflation pressure. The following pages provide more detailed information on how to control and when the inflation pressure, the damage and the wear and what to do when it becomes necessary to replace the tires. Tyres excessively worn or improperly inflated can cause accidents with serious injury or death. Follow the instructions in this booklet relating to inflation and maintenance of tires. Inflation Maintaining proper inflation pressure gives the best combination of handling, tread life and ride comfort. Under-inflated tires wear unevenly, endanger the maneuverability and economy of consumption and are more susceptible to damage from overheating. Over-inflated tires can reduce the ride comfort, are more susceptible to damage from road and wear unevenly. Inspect the tires every day. If you suspect that a tire will be deflated, immediately check the pressure with a manometer. Measure the pressure with a gauge at least once a month. Even tires in good condition can lose 7 to 15 kpa (kgf/cm2 0,07-0,15) per month. Remember to check the spare wheel with the other tires. Check the tire pressure cold. This means that the car must have been parked for at least three hours. If you drive the car before checking the pressure, the tires can still be considered "cool" if you ride less than 1.6 km. If you check pressure when tires are hot [the car was driven for several kilometers], we obtain a value of kpa ( kgf/cm2) higher than the detection cold. This is normal. Do not let air leak out to obtain the specified cold pressure. The tires would be inflated poorly. ~ 203 ~

Tyres Read the tire pressure recommended on the label tires fitted to the drivers door the correct cold tire pressure. Always use the same gauge for the measurement. This makes it easier to determine if a pressure loss is due to an abnormality of the tire, or variability between different gauges. The tires tubeless contain partially air leakage in case of puncture. However, since the air leakage is often very slow, check carefully whether there are holes in the case of a tire begins to lose pressure. Inspection Each time you measure your blood pressure, also check if the tires show signs of damage, wear or foreign objects wedged in the tread. In particular, check that: There are bulges in the tread or sidewall. If any, replace the tire. There are cuts, cracks or fissures on the tire sidewall. Replace the tire if the belt of tissue becomes visible. The tread is not worn excessively. This car has entered into the tread wear indicators. When the wear reaches the indicators, there appears a 12.7 mm wide band across the tread. This means staying less than 1.6 mm of tread on the tire. A tire in this condition has very little grip in the wet. Replace the tire if the tread wear indicators become visible in three or more points of the tire. ~ 204 ~

Tyres Maintenance In addition to proper inflation, even the correct wheel alignment helps to reduce tire wear. Have allinemento the wheels from the dealer. The tires were balanced from the factory, however, may require a rebalancing of their first full wear. Have the tires from the dealer if you are experiencing continuous vibration while driving. A tire should always be rebalanced if it is removed from the wheel. Make sure the tire balance the wheels when you are mounting new tires. This increases the driving comfort and tire life. The original car's tires were dynamically balanced from the factory. For best results, ask the tire to perform dynamic balancing. NOTE (Only vehicles with aluminum wheels) Counterweights not correct can damage aluminum wheels. Use only genuine Honda counterweights for balancing. Tire rotation To prolong the life of tires and distribute wear more evenly, rotate the tires every 10,000 miles. Move the tires at the locations shown in the figures whenever they are rotated. The figure above shows the pattern of rotation of tires for cars equipped with spare wheel or when the wheel is not included in the normal short rotation. ~ 205 ~

Tyres There are commercially available tires designated "Directional Tyres." These tires are designed to rotate in one direction only. The rotation of the tire is indicated by an arrow on his side. See figure in next column if you rotate the spare tire also normal. Replacement of tires and rims The tires supplied with the car are better suited to the car's performance and ensure both the best combination of handling, ride comfort and durability. Replace them with radial tires of the same size, load index, speed and maximum pressure at low temperature (indicated on the tire sidewall). Mounting radial tires on the car together and reduces the cross paintings braking capacity, traction and steering precision. The incorrect installation of tires can affect vehicle handling and stability. This may result from accidents involving serious injury or death. ~ 206 ~

Tyres It 'should replace all four tires at once. If this is not possible or not necessary, replace the two front tires or rear pair. Replacing a single tire can seriously affect the handling of the car. ABS compare the speed of rotation of the wheels. When replacing tires, use more of the same size as the original. The size and structure of tires can affect wheel speed and degrade the performance of ABS. If you need to change a wheel, make sure you use a wheel with the same specifications as the original. The replacement wheels are available at the Honda dealer. Refer to the Honda dealer before replacing tires. Wheels and Tires Wheels: (Except model 1.8 fi) 14 x 5 J (Model 1.8 fi) 15x6 JJ Tyres: (Model 1.4 fi) 175/65R14 82T (Models 1.5 and 1.6 fi fi) 185/60R14 82h (Model 1.8 fi) 195/55R15 84V Read the label tires fitted to the drivers door or contact the dealer for information on the correct size tire mounted on the car. Go to page. 268 for more information on tires and wheels. ~ 207 ~

Tyres Winter tires Since the summer tires are not very suitable for winter weather conditions, we recommend the use of winter tires (tires M + S) on snowy or icy. If you use M + S tires mounted on all four wheels to ensure safe driving. Use only tires of the same brand and with the same profile. Pay attention to the size of the tires and their load indices and speed up the time of purchase. Mount winter tires according to the specifications of the vehicle registration. According to EEC Directive relating to tires, winter tires are used when there should be a sticker indicating the maximum speed of the tires themselves in plain sight in the driver's vision, if the car's maximum speed is greater than that permitted with winter tires. The sticker is available from the tire. If in doubt, contact your Honda dealer. Snow Chains Use snow chains only in cases of emergency or if required for driving in certain areas. Attach the chains to the front wheels. Use special care when driving with chains on snow or ice. They may have a handling less predictable than good winter tires without chains. Some types of chains can damage tires, wheels, suspension and bodywork. Choose only subtle link chains to ensure adequate clearance between the tire and wheel. Look at the section of the Rings and other manufacturer's instructions chains. See your Honda dealer before purchasing any type of chains for the Honda car. Once mounted the chains, keep speeds below 30 mph on snowy or icy. To reduce the wear on tires and chains, avoid driving with chains on clean streets. Use only chains or equivalent specifications as reported in the table. Tire size chains like 174/65R14 and 185/60R14 RUD /65R14 RUD48420 ~ 208 ~

Parking the car If you must leave the car parked for long periods (more than one month), there are several precautions to be taken to prepare the car to the depot. A proper preparation will help to conserve the car and facilitates the resumption of driving. If possible, park the car indoors. Fill the fuel tank. Replace engine oil and filter on (see page. 167 or 170). Wash and dry completely out. Clean the inside. Ensure that coatings, mats, etc.. are completely dry. Leave the handbrake off. Move the gear lever in reverse (manual) or P position (automatic). Block the rear wheels. If the vehicle must remain parked for longer periods, put on suitable supports so that the wheels are raised off the ground. Leave a window slightly open (if the car remains closed). Disconnect the battery. Wrap the wiper arms and wipers with a cloth so it does not touch the glass. To minimize the phenomena of adhesion, apply silicone spray lubricant to seals all doors and trunk. Also, apply body wax to painted surfaces in contact with the seals of the doors and trunk. Cover the car with a towel not waterproof, porous material such as cotton. The non-porous materials such as plastics retain moisture, which can damage the paint. If possible, run the engine periodically (preferably once a month). If the vehicle remains parked for 12 months or more, run by the Honda dealer checks on the establishment of maintenance mesi/ to 24 km when the vehicle is removed from the shed (see page. 155). ~ 220 ~

Rinse frequently. Check if there are patches of tar, resin, etc.. on the body. Remove these stains with a specific product or turpentine. Rinse immediately so as not to damage the finish. Remember to go over the wax on these areas, even if the rest of the car does not need waxing. After washing and rinsing all the outside dry with a soft cloth or suede. Do not let the car dry exterior air to avoid formation of pools of water and the opacity of paint. While drying the car, check if there are scratches or nicks that could trigger corrosion. Repair paint for touch-ups (see page. 225). Roof antenna This car is equipped with a manual antenna located at the front center of the roof. After waxing, the water should form small droplets. Use a quality liquid or wax. Apply the material according to the instructions on the container. Typically, there are two types of products: Wax - Waxes are the finishing coat of paint and protect it from damage due to exposure to sunlight, air pollution, etc.. And 'advisable to use wax on the car when it is new. Polishing - The polishes and waxes, cleaners lost partially restore the original shine from oxidized paint. They usually contain light abrasives and solvents that remove the top layer of paint finish. Use a thinner if the paint of your Honda not recover its original brilliance after using a normal wax. Even removing the tar, insects, etc.. with appropriate cleaning products off the wax. Remember to go over the wax in these areas, even if the rest of the car does not need waxing. Aluminum alloy wheels (some models) Clean the aluminum wheels of your Honda in the same manner with which you clean the rest of the outside car. Wash them with the same solution and rinse thoroughly. The wheels have a protective layer that prevents the aluminum corrode or tarnish. The use of harsh chemicals, including some commercial products for cleaning the wheels, or brushes with hard bristles can damage this protective layer. For cleaning the wheels, use only a mild detergent and a soft brush or sponge. Finishing touches to the paint The dealer is available for touch paint that matches the car. The color code is printed on a sticker attached to the driver's door pillar. Communicate this to the dealer code to receive the correct color. Check frequently if there are scratches or nicks on the paint. Repaired immediately to prevent the underlying metal can rust. Use only paint for touchups on small scratches. More extensive damage to the vehicle must be repaired by a qualified technician. ~ 225 ~

If using a deodorant liquid, fix firmly in the cockpit, preventing their escape while driving. ~ 227 ~

Corrosion protection Two factors normally contribute to the formation of rust in the car: 1. The humidity in stagnant air spaces of the body. Dirt and salt that collects in the cavity of the underbody of the car remain moist, encouraging corrosion. 2. The removal of paint and protective coatings from the outside and underside of the car. This Honda car rust protection. It 'can safeguard your car from rust by making some simple periodic maintenance: Repair nicks and scratches in the paint as they are noticed. Check and clean drain holes in the underside and the bottom of the doors. Clean the underbody with a high pressure spray. This is especially important in areas where roads are salted in winter. It 'also a good idea in humid climates and in areas of sea. Vehicles equipped with ABS have a sensor on each wheel and cabling. Be careful not to damage them. Have regular and restore the anti-corrosion coatings in the underside. Check that the coverage of the floor is dry. The upholstery and mats may remain damp for long periods, especially in winter. This moisture can cause the onset of corrosion in the underbody. ~ 228 ~
