2 B7 A4 Gauge Pod Installation Instructions Safety first:. When working with your vehicles electrical system; always disconnect the battery! Avoid shorting any circuits, or probing around wires. Failure to follow these safety precautions, and all others, could result in irreversible damage to your vehicles electrical system, failure to start, fire, and/or personal injury. Before you undertake this installation, it is important that you read the following instructions! Listed below are the necessary tools and skills required to complete the job. If the installation of this product seems overwhelming, please contact a qualified installer in your area. Be aware that disconnecting your battery may require you to input your radio anti-theft code, so make sure you have it handy. 3 Preparation: Park automobile on a level, suitable working area. Be sure to put the vehicle in park and/or engage the parking brake. Allow the engine time to cool to ambient temperatures to avoid the possibility of burns. Start the installation by removing the center vent assembly from the dashboard. Using a flat head screw driver, or plastic tool, carefully extract the center vent assembly and remove from vehicle.

4 With the vent assembly removed, remove the front trim ring. The front trim ring is easily removed by depressing several small tabs that hold it in place and pulling it off.

5 Remove the horizontal vent slats. Remove the vertical vent slats.

This can be done by removing the 8mm bolts holding it in place and applying firm pressure to pull the panel from

7 Begin working inside the vehicle by first removing the fuse panel cover and lower dash panel on the driver s side of the vehicle. This can be done by removing the 8mm bolts holding it in place and applying firm pressure to pull the panel from the dashboard. Disconnect the back of the fuse panel by the two clips on the side of the fuse block.

8 Begin working inside the vehicle by first removing the fuse panel cover and lower dash panel on the driver s side of the vehicle. Disconnect the fuse panel by the two 8mm bolts. 9 Locate the solid black wire on the back of the fuse panel. This will be fuse #47 located on the other side of the fuse panel. Using a scotch lock provided in the kit attach the red wire from the gauge wiring harness. ECS Tuning 1000 Seville Rd. Wadsworth Ohio, Phone Fax Web

Locate the head light switch wire harness and disconnect it. Connect the green and black wire from the gauge harness to pin number 10 on the head light switch harness(brown wire).

10 Locate the head light switch wire harness and disconnect it. Connect the green and black wire from the gauge harness to pin number 10 on the head light switch harness(brown wire). Connect the white wire to pin number 17 on the head light switch harness(gray wire with blue trace). This completes the wiring of the gauge. 11 Next, remove the engine cover under the hood. Locate the circled cap. Cut the OEM crimp clamp holding the cap on the intake manifold. Remove cap

12 Install the supplied ECS Billet Boost T as shown in the above picture with supplied piece of hose. Connect the Boost T to the boost line using a 2 piece of included vacuum line.

13 Route the boost line as demonstrated in the above picture. Drill a 1/4 hole in the circled grommet. Feed the boost line into the rain tray as shown. Next, start removing the T-30 Torx screws holding the Ecu lid down.the last screw is accessible, once the driver side windshield wiper arm has been removed.

14 The last screw (T-30) is removed as demonstrated in the above picture. Using a ¼ inch drill bit, proceed to drill a hole in the side of the ecu compartment as shown in the above picture. The smaller supplied grommet goes here to prevent any water from entering the ecu compartment.

15 Route the boost line as shown down into the drivers compartment. Once the boost line has been routed to your satisfaction, reinstall the ecu, ecu compartment lid, and windshield wiper. phone Fax Web

16 Route the boost line down the inside of the fire wall as shown in the above picture. Continue routing the boost line towards the boost sensor.

17 Connect the end of the boost line to boost sensor. With the two supplied screws securely fasten the boost sensor underneath the dashboard out of the way of moving parts. Continue to rout the wire from the boost sensor to the gauge behind the vent. Phone Fax Web

18 Insert the boost gauge into the ECS vent pod, and connect the two plugs into the back of the gauge. Reinstall lower dash panel, insuring all wires and lines are out of the way of moving parts. Secure any loose wires or lines with included zip ties.

19 This completes the installation of the ECS Tuning vent gauge pod.
