Starting with a high quality, nonporous steel alloy casting and then we totally machine it using only the latest CNC state-of-the-art equipment. Added to this is a precision made steel alloy spider gear section and high tensile snap rings or alloy threaded inserts. Use the spider gears of your choice. MADE IN THE U.S.A.!!! They eliminate the stock housing flex problem in addition to providing for an extra pair of spider gears. Units also allow infinite ring gear lash adjustment and do not affect steering or steering brake operation IRS Differential w/o Spider Gears ALUMINUM SPOOL Weighing in at approximately 7 pounds, this billet aluminum spool is ready to bolt-on to any swingaxle drag car with an eight bolt pattern. Made of 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum, this spool will deliver even traction every pass. This is a must to run hard and consistent!! Made exclusively for us by the only factory offering the required process, special hardened steel plates are made to specification in Germany then cut into snap rings with computer controlled lasers. These rings are 160% thicker and have a tremendous resistance to dishing. The radial force is also 160% greater than stock. Stock snap rings fail (two just fail in series) because end gear forces cause the weak ring to dish thus moving the ring tips together. To 1 Ring and Pinion Set, Splined HEAVY DUTY SIDE PLATE The abuse of off-road can cause separation of ring and pinion due to flexing of stock side plate. Damage to the entire transmission can then occur. To correct this, install a heavy duty aluminum side plate. Available to fit 61 and later VW transaxles. One model for swingaxles, another for the IRS. 3 5027 AXLE TUBE RETAINERS Heavy duty steel retainers are the perfect replacements for thin stamped stock axle tube retainers. Precision machined to eliminate leaky gaskets and O-rings. 4 SUPER AXLES Crafted from aircraft steel, these axles are precision machined, heat treated and then ground smooth. The middle diameter is not tapered like stock axles. Instead, the middle diameter is constant all the way to the spline, thereby permitting the axle to twist under heavy load which helps prevent transaxle breakage. 6 STARTER BUSHING Easy to install adapters allow mismatch of transaxle and starter. Part number 3557 is a bronze bushing that permits 12 volt starter and flywheel to be used on 66 and earlier transaxle, while the 3558 sleeve presses on shaft of 6 volt starter and allows it to be used in 67 and later transaxles to 12 Volt Starter Bushing to 6 Volt Starter Sleeve LOCK NUT KIT This kit consists of self locking nuts for all pertinent transaxle assembly points to resist loosening caused by vibration. Added safety for any VW transaxle assembly Transaxle Lock Nut Kit URETHANE CV FLANGE SEALS These special urethane seals fit right into the constant velocity joint flanges to prevent the axles from beating the transmission. Designed to eliminate broken mounts this kit also prevents twisting and spreading of the VW mount horns even under the most severe conditions of off-road competition.
