These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down radio station presets. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 4. Remove the roof console (four bolts and unplug the vehicle connectors). 3 5. Remove the cover from the left sunvisor (four retaining tabs). 6. Remove the two T-25 Torx screws, pull out the left sun visor, and remove the sunvisor. 8. Remove the cover from the mirror (two retaining tabs). 9. Lift up the mirror while pulling the base, and remove the mirror. TABS (2) COVER Lift up. TABS (4) BASE Pull. COVER LEFT SUNVISOR TORX SCREWS (2) B 7. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the right and left sunvisor holders. BASE B LEFT SUNVISOR HOLDER 10. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the two caps from the left front grab rail. FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER Push. RIGHT SUNVISOR HOLDER FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER Turn. SUNVISOR HOLDERS (2) Y CAPS (2) GRAB RAIL GRAB RAIL CAP B Honda Access Corp of 9

4 11. Using a needle nose pliers, remove the left front grab rail (two clips). GRAB RAIL S (2) 12. Take off the front door opening seal. Push the A-pillar trim into the vehicle body by striking the top of the A- pillar trim in the area marked SIDE CURTAIN AIR- BAG with your hand perpendicularly to the vehicle. Then, remove the clip. TAB Collapsed. Remains on the vehicle panel. NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS TAB Tap. BODY PIN Comes off from the clip. Pull. GRAB RAIL B BODY DOOR OPENING SEAL Pushed deep behind the vehicle panel. 5 13. Remove the door opening seal from around the left A-pillar. Remove the left A-pillar trim (two clips). 15. Take off the front door opening seal. Remove the left kick panel (two clips). Plug the automatic day/night mirror harness 6-pin connector into the 6-pin connector opening of the fuse box. 6 If another accessory is already plugged into the 6-pin connector opening of the fuse box, remove the dummy connector from the 6-pin connector taped to the automatic day/night mirror harness. Plug the 6-pin connector from the other accessory harness into the 6-pin connector from the automatic day/night mirror harness you just unplugged and plug the automatic day/night mirror harness into the 6-pin connector opening of the fuse box. 18. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness behind fuse box. FUSE BOX 6-PIN OPENING of the FUSE BOX OTHER ACCESSORY 6-PIN 6-PIN DUMMY B 19. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with the two wire ties in the areas shown B 17. Attach a piece of steel wire to the automatic day/ night mirror harness, and route it to the left front pillar trim opening. 7 20. Remove the vehicle bolt from the fuel lid opener. Attach the automatic day/night mirror harness ground terminal with the ground bolt. 22. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness upper the headliner from the left A-pillar to the middle side of the vehicle. FUSE BOX GROUND BOLT BOLT (Not used.) FUEL LID OPENER NIGHT GROUND TERMINAL B HEADLINER LEFT A-PILLAR 7-PIN B 21. Remove the steel wire. Route the automatic day/ night mirror harness along the vehicle harness as shown. Secure the day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with a wire tie (adjust the tape of the day/night mirror harness with the wire tie). Secure the day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with the three wire ties. TAPE 23. Plug the automatic day/night mirror harness 7-pin connector into the day/night mirror. 24. Install the day/night mirror on the mirror base, then tighten the T-20 Torx screw installed the day/night mirror. 7-PIN WIRE TIE BASE LEFT A- PILLAR WIRE TIE PILLAR TRIM OPENING B TORX SCREW Up B Honda Access Corp of 9

8 25. Using isopropyl alcohol, thoroughly clean the areas where the EPT sealer will attach. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the headliner with three EPT sealers. 26. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with the four wire ties loosely secure in step Remove the vehicle clip that remains on the left A-pillar. 29. Check that the left A-pillar trim and the pin are not damaged, and install the clip on the pin. Remove. EPT SEALER LEFT A-PILLAR LEFT A-PILLAR TRIM PIN HEADLINER H B 27. Install the harness cover to the automatic day/night mirror and the headliner as shown. HEADLINER 30. Position the clip at right angles to the hole in the left A-pillar. Install the clip by lightly pushing the left A-pillar trim at the part marked as SIDE CURTAIN AIR- BAG. Check that the airbag is not pinched with the clip. 9 31. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 32. Reinstall all removed parts. 33. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 34. Enter the customer s audio and navigation system (if equipped) anti-theft codes, and reset the XM radio presets. 35. Reset the clock. NOTE: check the operation of the automatic day/night mirror according to the Operating Instructions supplied. Store the Operating Instructions in the globe box. Honda Access Corp of 9
