1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARN FRONT RECEIVER Part Number: Application: Ford F Your safety, and the safety of others, is very important. To help you make informed decisions about safety, we have provided installation and operating instructions and other information on labels and in this guide. This information alerts you to potential hazards that could hurt you or others. It is not possible to warn you about all potential hazards associated with this product, you must use your own good judgment. QUANTITY DESCRIPTION RECEIVER HARDWARE KIT RECEIVER PLUG NOTE: THIS RECEIVER WILL FIT VEHICLES WITH OR WITHOUT FACTORY TOW LOOPS. THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE AND TOOLS REQUIRED ARE DIFFER- ENT. THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTIONS, ONE FOR EACH PROCEDURE. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION TO DETERMINE WHAT IS REQUIRED. MINOR MODIFICATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED DUE TO VARIATIONS BETWEEN VEHICLES. III. TOOLS REQUIRED 8mm socket (bumper removal) 10mm socket (bumper removal) 21mm socket (bumper removal) 15mm socket (tow loop removal) IV. TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS 7/16 inch wrench or socket 3/4 inch wrench or socket 15/16 inch wrench and socket 7/16 INCH 50 lb. ft. (67.8 N-M) 1/2 INCH 70 lb. ft. (94.9 N-M) 5/8 INCH 90 lb. ft. 2 Insert nut plate inside frame. For vehicles without factory tow loops only. 5/8x6" bolt, flat washer, tube, through frame, washers and Receiver. Secure with 5/8" lock Secure license plate brackets with 1/4" hardware. Use 5/8" flat washers as shims between frame and receiver. Use as required. Insert spacer tube in frame Vehicles not equipped with factory tow loops: 1/2x2" bolts and lock washers (flat washer on the front bolt; thick spacer on the rear bolt) through frame into nut plate inside frame. VI. INSTALLATION Vehicles equipped with factory tow loops: Factory bolts through tow loop, Receiver and frame, into factory nut plates inside frame. Detach the rubber air deflector from the back of the front bumper by removing the three plastic fasteners along the forward edge. 3 2. Remove the front tow loop bolts only. Loosen the rear tow loop bolts enough to slide the tow loops off (these bolts are about 2" long). Do not remove these bolts. They are threaded into nut plates inside the frame. Without at least one bolt attached, they can be lost inside the frame and it will be necessary to remove the bumper to retrieve them. The tow loops will be rein stalled later. See Figure 3 Remove front bolt Loosen rear bolt Figure 3 Note: Front bumper has been removed for clarity 3. Place the Receiver in position over the loosened tow loop bolts. Note the rear slots are an irregular shape that will slip over the bolts. Reinstall the tow loops sandwiching the Re ceiver between the tow loops and the frame. Slide the Receiver and tow loops forward and install the front tow loop bolts through receiver, tow loops and frame, and into the nut plate inside the frame. If the nut plates have rotated use a small screwdriver or similar tool to realign them with the holes in the frame. Do not tighten yet. 4. Place a 5/8" flat washer then a spacer tube over a 5/8 x 6" bolt. Insert the bolt through the vehicle frame from the outside. Use additional 5/8" flat washers as shims between the receiver and frame. The washers can be added as necessary to take up space and center the receiver. It is not necessary to have the same number of washers on both sides. Install a 5/8" lock nut on each bolt. Tighten the tow loop bolts then the 5/8" hardware. 6. Re-attach the air deflector. Stretch or trim it to fit. WARN INDUSTRIES PAGE A1

5 7. Install the license plate brackets. Attach the ends with the slots under the receiver plates and secure with 1/4" hardware. 6 VI. INSTALLATION Continued For Vehicles Not Equipped with Factory Tow Loops 9. Detach the rubber air deflector from the back of the front bumper by removing the three plastic fasteners along the forward edge. See Figure 2. Disconnect factory fog lamp wires if so equipped. 10. Open the hood to access and remove the screws securing the hood latch and the grille bump stops to the top of the bumper and fascia. Also remove the screws securing the plastic fascia to the bumper. Figure 8 Screws for hood latch, bump stops and fascia Figure 8 Location and quantity of screws may vary 11. Remove the bumper. Note the spacing between the bumper and fascia. You will want to return the bumper to this same position after the Receiver is installed. Remove the nuts on either side of each of the bumper brackets (4 total) and remove the bumper assembly. Note: The plastic, top portion of the bumper (fascia) stays attached to the vehicle. See Figure 9 WARN INDUSTRIES PAGE A1

Place the nut plates inside the frame, over the two holes in the bottom of the frame. 13. Place the Receiver in position and secure it with 1/2 x 2" bolts, lock washers and standard flat washers through the front holes into the nut plates. Use 1/2 x 2" bolts, lock washers and 1/4" thick flat washers through the rear holes. Slide the Receiver all the way forward to align the bolts. Do not tighten yet. 14. Reinstall the bumper. Angle the top under the fascia and rotate the bumper into position.see Figure 10. The Receiver should slide through the bumper opening. Install the bumper hard ware. Align the bumper and tighten the four (4) bumper nuts. Access the inboard nuts through holes in the Receiver. Install the hood latch, bump stop and fascia hardware, and tighten. 8 Figure 10 Insert bumper top first, then rotate into place 15. Place a 5/8" flat washer then a spacer tube over a 5/8 x 6" bolt. Insert the bolt through the vehicle frame from the outside. Use additional 5/8" flat washers as shims between the receiver and frame. The washers can be added as necessary to take up space and center the receiver. It is not necessary to have the same number of washers on both sides. Install a 5/8" lock nut on each bolt. Do not tighten yet. See Figures 4 and Tighten the 1/2" bolts then the 5/8" hardware. 17. Re-attach the air deflector. Stretch or trim it to fit. Reconnect fog lamp wires if applicable. 18. Install the license plate brackets. Attach the ends with the slots under the receiver plates and secure with 1/4" hardware. See Figure Insert the Receiver Plug. WARN INDUSTRIES PAGE A1
