Know the swing of the door which is being installed prior to installation. Make sure door efficiently operates prior to installing closer. Verify closer spring size prior to installation. Installing the surface closer Tools recommended Drill Bits Metal: No. & 0- Tap Wood: /8" # Phillips screwdriver M. & M Hex key Installing the back plate Reference template Attach the back plate to the installing surface using the four screws [0- machine screws or #0 wood screws] provided with the surface closer. NOTE: Make sure arrows on plate point upward. Installing the surface closer Toward the hinge NOTE: Orient pinion () closest to hinge.. Secure the closer body () to the plate using the four Mx47mm flathead Phillips screws () provided with the plate. A B C A. Position the components inside the track channel ().. 5 TS96 PKT 90/9 (closer on wall) Right hand door 4 4. Align the arm () with the slide shoe of the track channel. 4. Secure with one M8xmm shoulder bolt () using an M hex key.. With the door closed and using an adjustable wrench (looking up at the bottom of the closer): Left hand door - turn the bottom pinion clockwise approximately. Right hand door - turn the bottom pinion counterclockwise approximately.. Attach the main arm () to the top pinion with an M6x0 socket head cap screw () using an M hex key. Be sure that the door is fully closed during application. Right hand door B. Adjustments Set closer spring size prior to making any closing speed adjustments. Do not back valves out beyond closer casting. Maximum opening angle is 9º. Door should close in to 6 seconds from 90º. Do not close valves completely.
