2 Example programming for two 2013 Chamberlain Garage Door Openers Contents and Needs Your Mo- Door system comes complete with: Mo- Door Controller OEM Style & Quality Rocker Switch Tools you will need to install: 10mm wrench or ratchet/socket 4mm allen wrench 6mm allen wrench Towel Paper clip or jewelers screwdriver (not shown) Time to install: 30 minutes Time to program: 5 minutes No modification of the bike of any kind is needed. The rocker switch will snap in place of your blank switch on your center consol. This allows you to maintain your OEM look and function of the bike. Long gone are the days of rigging something up to your headlights or other activator. 2

3 Installation Steps Overview Remove rear center console cover Remove front upper fairing cover Remove instrument cluster cover Remove stereo/center assembly Installation Steps Breakdown Rear Center Console Cover Open left cargo area Gently lift up on the tip of the plastic cover in front of the seat. Once you start lifting up on the left you can grab ahold of the top right side and gently lift the cover off the bike and set aside. 3

4 Upper Fairing Cover Stand in front of the bike and gently lift up on the top rearward edges while lifting up. Don t pull completely off the bike as the radio antenna is attached to the inside of the cover (Circled in bottom picture). While supporting the cover, lift up on the clasp holding the antenna connector together while gently separating the connector. A little bit of effort may be needed to get the connector apart so be careful not to lift up too hard on the clasp. A second set of hands really help here. After the antenna is disconnected, lift off the cover and set aside. 4

5 Instrument Cover/Bezel This is held in place only by clips. Insert a trim removal tool or something that won t scratch, under the left and right sides of the cover while gently prying the cover away from the instruments. Set aside. So far, here s what has been removed and set aside: 5

6 Remove stereo/center assembly The center console/stereo assemble is attached to the bike with: 2 x 6mm allen bolts (top 2 red circles) 2 x 10mm bolts (bottom 2 circles) 1 x 4mm allen bolt (left center circle) Remove all 5 of these items. NOTE: THE BOTTOM RIGHT BOLT HAS THE STEREO GROUND WIRE. REMEMBER TO REINSTALL THIS WHEN DONE!! 6

7 Remove key from ignition (if present). Leave left compartment door opened. Lay towel or blanket OVER left handle bar, left storage door and over the storage compartment. 7

8 Gently lift up on the center console. When it s clear of the ignition keyhole, gently rotate towards, and onto the towel placed on the left side of the bike. 8

9 Under the center console, disconnect all the connectors. Stereo, the ANTENNA (pull towards the front of the bike to remove), the driving light, hazards, and grip heaters. The stereo connectors are removed by pressing in on the clip while pulling the connector towards the front of the bike. If your bike doesn t have some of those, don t worry. Just remove/disconnect everything. After everything is disconnected, lift off the console. 9

10 Switch Mounting In your console is a blank where your Mo- Door switch is going to go. If you look closely, you can see that it s held in place by 4 white tabs. Push these tabs in with a small screwdriver or knife and the blank will come right out. Take the provided switch and push it in place of where the blank was. 10

11 Mo- Door Placement The recommended location for the Mo- Door box is under the upper front fairing. Using the supplied Velcro, mount the box to the top of a turn signal housing. If you are planning on using a blank switch hole on the right side of the center console, then mount the box on the right turn signal. Left if using the left. Shown here is using the left side because this bike doesn t have heated grips so that switch location is available. 11

12 Run the wires from the Mo- Door by the fuse box on the bike through the fairing. If you push the wires through with one hand you should be able to feel them with the other hand on the back side of the fairing. After the wires are run through, it should look something like this: 12

13 Reassembly Now that the Mo- Door and switch are in place, place the center console back onto the bike, on the towel, laying on its side like when you removed all the connectors. The Mo- Door uses 3 wires (RED, WHITE, and BLACK). If there is a 4 th wire, IT S NOT USED SO IGNORE IT). The new switch has 3 posts. Forward, Center, and Rear. The only one that s important is the RED WIRE. IT MUST GO TO THE CENTER POST on the switch. The white and the black wires go on the other posts. NOTE: If you ever disconnect the switch in the future, make note of the wire locations so that you can reassembly in the same way. Now you can connect all the original equipment, lay the console flat down in it s proper place and re- attach it to the bike. 13

14 Press back on the instrument bezel and the cover that goes in front of the seat (what you removed right off the bat), and program your Mo- Door opener. 14

15 Example programming for two 2013 Chamberlain Garage Door Openers. Note: If you installed the Dual opener setup, each position of the switch must be programmed independently. Each position of the switch can operate different makes of openers too. On the bottom of the Mo- Door controller (Velcro side), there are two things of interest. 1) An LED light near the wires exiting the box and 2) a small pin sized hole. Locate the pin hole and insert a tiny screw driver or paper clip and press down the button inside the hole until the LED lights up and stays lit (just a few seconds). The literature that came with the Mo- Door states that 8 presses of the remote button is needed for the 2013 Chamberlain openers. After the LED is lit, press the switch installed on your console, in the direction you want to program this first door EIGHT times. After each press, the LED will rapidly blink. After each rapid blinks the light will stop blinking. This is when the process is repeated for 8 total presses of your switch. After the 8 th press, and the LED goes out, with whatever you used to start the programming with, press the internal button in the Mo- Door. The Mo- Door is ready to now be programmed with your garage door opener. Now, on the Garage door opener, press the learn button (this may be completed via the wall controller if your model has this available). Then press the newly programmed switch on your Vision. The garage door light should blink signaling a successful program. To program for the second garage door, and use the other direction on your console switch, repeat the above steps. A downward press on your switch will operate door number 1 Am upward press on your switch will operate door number 2 After programmed doors are correct, you can complete the install by reconnecting your antenna to the faring cover, and reinstalling the cover. All done! Now enjoy your new Mo- Door garage door opener. 15
