Additional Parts Included (2) Underwater pool lights (for UK and other countries with same electrical requirements) (1) 3 1 / 2 hole saw w/ 1/4 drill bit (1) Step Down Transformer (1) Cube Tap 7.2 Additional Considerations The lights that Endless Pools have provided are equipped with a 50' cord set to allow connection to a remotely located GFCI protected outlet (RCD protected outlet in the UK and other countries with the same electrical requirements). Please contact our Customer Service Department at (800) with questions from the US, from the UK or from other countries. In some cases, it is necessary to run conduit through a concrete slab, under ground, and in some cases through structural walls. If you plan to do this and have selected the lights option, be sure that the size of the conduit is appropriate. Because the transformer for the light is quite large, it requires a conduit of at least 6" in order to pass it through. Merely snipping the cord to disconnect the transformer will void the warranty. If you have already installed conduit that is not the appropriate size, please call the Customer Service Department for advice. The transformer for the lights can be susceptible to overheating when installed in a space where ambient temperature exceeds 95 F (35 C), or when exposed to direct sunlight. This failure will require the replacement of the entire housing and transformer. Please ensure that the placement of the transformer is appropriate so as to avoid this problem. The lights provided are not designed to run indefinitely. The heat inside the lens barrel can be enough to melt or crack the lens and cause a leak should you leave them on for extended periods of time. We recommend that you place the lights on a timed switch so as to avoid forgetting to turn them off. 7.3 Installation Instructions 1) Select a place for the lights, keeping in mind that at least 18 of access must be maintained to the outside wall of the pool for service. The place selected must be at least 12 below the top flange of the pool panel and not interfere with a structural Z brace. 2) Mark the panel wall and drill the hole with the 3 1 / 2 hole saw provided. When this is complete, be sure to clean the burrs and sharp edges from the holes you just cut. 3) When the liner is installed, and the level of water is approximately three inches below the holes cut for the lights, you can make the cuts in the liner to match the holes in the panel. This is very similar to the thru-wall fittings at the front of the pool. 4) Detach the light s lens barrel (see Figure 1, on page 4) from the housing that is attached to the cord and transformer. This will leave you with a lens attached to a threaded section, two gaskets and a threaded nut on the back. 5) Remove the threaded nut on the back and one of the black gaskets. 6) Place one of the black gaskets between the pool wall and the liner. Note: Be sure not to drop this as it is very hard to retrieve from between the liner and the wall. (A small bead of silicone on the pool wall will help to hold this in place.) 7) With one gasket placed onto the lens barrel, put the barrel through the hole and the gasket seated on the pool wall. 8) While firmly holding the liner and the lens barrel in place, thread the nut onto the back of the lens barrel and tighten it securely, but hand tight only. Do not use a wrench. This should be sufficient to create a watertight seal for the light. 9) Snap the light housing onto the back of the lens barrel where the locking lugs are. Follow all safety instructions listed below.

2 Page 2 of 7 10) Optional gels - Sunstar has provided you with a set of gels for your lights should you wish to create a different ambience in your pool. Please refer to the diagram on p.5 for installation of these gels. 7.4 Extremely Important Safety Requirements 1) The pigtail coming from the transformers of the light must be plugged into a GFCI protected outlet (RCD protected outlet for the UK and other countries with the same electrical requirements) located at least 5 feet from the inside wall of the pool. (Check with your local electric code for minimum distance between the pool and this outlet). 2) Do not use an extension cord!!! 3) The pool lights are designed to be installed in pool water, commonly cooler than 90 F (32 C). If you are planning to keep the pool s temperature above 90 F (32 C), you may be limiting the life of the lenses. 4) Only operate the lights when the top of the lens is covered with at least 6 of water. 5) The light lenses are not suitable for use with Baquacil. 7.5 Electrical Considerations for UK and other countries with the same electrical requirements. The pigtail coming from the transformer must be plugged into the plug tap, which is to be plugged into the step down transformer as shown in the following diagram. Another alternative is to have your electrician provide a suitable step down transformer (220Volts to 12Volts) for each light. Your electrician would then be responsible for removing the light transformer from the end of the cord and installing the new transformer.
