The range includes single and double-sided pushbuttons and indicators; a pushbutton that mounts without the need for fixing screws; a glass-mounting pushbutton; secret-until-lit indicators; pushbuttons with braille and engraved symbols. Screwless mounting The Series 56 internal and external fast mounting, screwless pushbutton works by pressing the switch into a 59mm cut-out and letting the rubber flange seal it into the panel. This screwless model is vandal-resistant and can be used for numerous applications including door controls, toilet controls (Door Open, Lock, Flush), emergency HELP! points and egress control. Each key circuit features a detector circuit or cell. The keyboard s output signal is transmitted to the P via a standard PS2 or USB port. considered as the armature of a capacitor, with the front panel of the keyboard acting as the dielectric (the nonconductive isolating material). When a human finger touches the area in front of the copper area, it acts as the second armature of the capacitor, earthed through the user s body. The body s electrical properties then act as a serial RL (Resistor Self apacitor) network, diverting part of the HF voltage generated on the key towards the earth. This drop in voltage constitutes a change in the output state and is detected as such by the micro-controller. 69 Engraving for Keypads and Keyboards EO offers fully-customised keypads and keyboards with function keys that can be engraved to exact needs. ustomers can specify the engraving that they need from a wide range of characters and symbols, including upper and lower case lettering, graphics and engineering characters Roman and Greek and superscripts and subscripts. Original graphics may also be introduced. Where appropriate, metal keys can be marked using high-tech, computercontrolled laser engraving machines. These markings are effectively burnt into the keys so they are far more wear-resistant than conventional engraving. EO also offers a conventional engraving service on plastic keys.
