2 INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 4. Remove the cover from the left fog light lid (four retaining tabs). LEFT HEADLIGHT 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the radio station presets. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Removing the Vehicle Parts (Outside of the Vehicle) 3. Remove the air intake box (two clips). 2 CLIPS AIR INTAKE BOX COVER 4 RETAINING TABS 8 CLIPS LEFT FOG LIGHT LID BE 5. Remove the left fog light lid from the front bumper (eight clips). 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the right side of the vehicle AB 2 of 11 AII (0805) 2008 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 3 Routing the Fog Light Harness 7. Find the vehicle 1-pin connector, and remove the blue tape to free the connector. 1-PIN RADIATOR RESERVOIR POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WASHER TANK 10. Secure the fog light harness ground terminal to the vehicle frame with one ground bolt. GROUND TERMINAL GROUND BOLT BLUE TAPE Remove. 1-PIN GROUND TERMINAL RIGHT BE 11. Pull the fog light harness 2-pin connector (shorter position of the harness) out of the right fog light lid opening. PANEL CE 8. Plug the fog light harness 1-pin connector to the vehicle 1-pin connector. 9. Route the fog light harness ground terminal to the underside of the vehicle. 2-PIN RIGHT CLIP BE 12. 4 13. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (longer position of the harness) along the vehicle harness. WASHER TANK 15. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (longer position of the harness) along the vehicle harness to left side of the vehicle as shown. 3 WIRE TIES BE 14. 5 16. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (longer position of the harness) to the underside of the vehicle. 18. Secure the fog light harness clip to the vehicle panel. 19. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. WIRE TIE 2-PIN 7D0401AE 17. 6 20. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with five wire ties. 22. Plug the fog light harness 2-pin connector to the left fog light. LEFT 5 WIRE TIES LEFT FOG LIGHT 2-PIN BE 23. Insert the two hooks of the left fog light into the front bumper, and install the left fog light on the front bumper with two 5 x 16 mm washer-bolts. LEFT BE 21. 7 24. Install the left fog light lid on the front bumper. LEFT 27. Pull away the weatherstrip, and remove the right kick panel (two clips). WEATHERSTRIP LEFT FOG LIGHT LID 25. Repeat steps 21 through 24 on the right side AE 2 CLIPS RIGHT KICK PANEL AE Installing the Relay and Headlight Switch 26. Remove the right front side step trim (four clips). 28. 8 29. Lower the tilt lever and pull the steering wheel out. UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 4 RETAINING TABS 2 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS 32. Turn the steering wheel 90 counterclockwise, and unplug the vehicle connector from the headlight switch. Push. TILT LEVER 30. Remove the upper steering column cover: AE Remove the two self-tapping screws. Push the upper cover in at the areas shown to release the four retaining tabs. 31. Remove the lower steering column cover (two selftapping screws and one screw). HEADLIGHT SWITCH STEERING WHEEL AE 33. Remove the two self-tapping screws from the headlight switch. While pushing the retaining tab, slide the headlight switch, and remove it from the steering column. Do not pull out the lever when removing the case. Do not damage the tab hole of the steering column. 9 34. Install the new headlight switch on the steering column using the two self-tapping screws. Hold the case by hand, then install the new headlight switch to the steering column. Do not push the lever when installing the case. Push the case and set the retaining tab to the tab hole securely. CASE TAB HOLE STEERING COLUMN USE AND CARE How to Operate Fog Lights Turn the light switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Turn the fog light switch on (indicator is on). NOTE: The fog light lenses can cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather. If the fog lights don t come on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. Fog Light Aiming Adjustment 1. Remove the fog light lid (eight retaining tabs). 10 2. Adjust the fog light: Adjust the aiming according to local laws and regulations. To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment knob in or out until the correct aiming is obtained. 2. Remove the fog light (two washer-bolts, two hooks, and unplug the fog light 2-pin connector). 2-PIN AIMING ADJUSTMENT KNOB To raise. To lower. 2 WASHER- BOLTS 2 HOOKS BE AE 3. Remove the bulb from the fog light. 3. Reinstall the fog light lid. BULB REPLACEMENT 1. Remove the fog light lid (eight retaining tabs). 11 4. Install the new bulb and socket to the fog light. Use only a Genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N S5A-003 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. When installing the new bulb, align the cutout on the fog light with the tab on the new bulb and turn the new bulb in completely. If not properly aligned, the fog light may blind oncoming drivers. Turn. NEW BULB NEW BULB AE 5. Reinstall the removed parts. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. Be sure to tighten the two washer-bolts securely. 6.
